Back in 1983 I had a couple of months between yacht deliveries and got a job with Unigate. I used to deliver milk to the estate off Sandy Lane.

True story that.

It’s in the highly desirable location of Fair Oak though.

Bet the previous owners of “Properties sold nearby” are regretting accepting the offers they took in 2018/17.

To be fair (!) It is only a short walk from Lewtas and an award winning chip shop...

Clearly catching on to how many road cyclists like me hate escaping from the eastern edge of Southampton city centre, through all the hostile motor traffic... Cycling bliss is not far from Fair Oak.

Or the data entry clerk sneezed and didn't notice the error.

I suspect they forgot to mention you actually get to own Fair Oak with the purchase and this includes the right to 'jus primae noctis' within this territory.
Note: If not I would add that, the property would be long sold before anyone got to try.

Sweet baby Jebus, that still looks like a **** load of money for a nasty 70's house in unloved condition.

Southampton prices are high even in the crappy areas and crap styled houses.

Shouldn't it be £28,000?

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but when I started working again in 2004 after a period of being incapable, I should have tried to get on the Southampton housing ladder ASAP or left the area. House prices have rocketted, places that were ~£60k around 1997 are now typically £200k+, while we are now paying more rent for an old basic 2-bed flat in need of major upkeep by a non-interested landlord than when we rented a lovely modern 2-bed flat in Rollesbrook Gardens back in 2005... But finding anything better than what we have now is a nightmare, rental prices have gone up so much since we moved in here back in summer 2006, but at least the silly letting agent fees have been stopped. The struggle is now trying to find somewhere we can afford to get on the housing ownership ladder, sub £150k flats bigger than a shoebox are like gold dust within ~5 miles of the city centre.

We were lucky enough to get onto the ladder in 2008. Now onto our second move since and the prices for anything big are just crazy, even when they need a full refurbishment. Most seem to disappears rapidly as well. Agree with the flats, decent sized 2 beds seem to be 200k up. Even the 70s built two bed starter homes in Lordswood are over 200k now (they were a lot less than that when we bought our old home).
