My nephew is in his 1st year at Uni.

He's doing Astro Physics, which seems a little out there...(sorry)

And yes I suppose this makes me officially old.

What do you get a student who is studying the origins of everything!

if he is not into outdoorsy stuff, then get him a warm coat.

the amount of people I knew at uni who didn't have a decent warm coat was incredible; shivering their way through the wind and rain throughout winter.

Failing that, a scarf.

Might take his mind of white dwarfs for a while.

Acid. I understood it helps the mind understand all that wierdy astro stuff? I am sure it helped Brian Cox at some point.

+1 for a properly warm and waterproof coat, Decathon do some really good (IMO) ones in the sailing section.

I had an old police wool coat which I practicaly lived in, and despite now being 10 years old (well, 10 for me, the date stamp says 1979!) it still comes out like new after dry cleaning!
