I'm looking to replace a pack for my Torchy light, looking for safe/reliable options here there seem to be dozens on ebay and amazon for pennies, however I don't want to risk a fire to save a few quid. Any reccomendations?

If you’re looking for individual 16650 cells to replace the old ones, something like TrustFire are good, I’ve been using them in various flashlights for years.

STRONGLY suggest not getting trustfire batts. They are nowhere near stated capacity and quite possibly dangerous.

Id recommend you contact MTB batteries. They made me a replacement battery for a troutie light but with a lumicycle connector.

U.K. Made, excellent service and good prices.

Can't you just buy a new one from Torchy? (or doesn't he do them anymore?)
I have 2 6-cell packs from him that are doing fine

New packs from Torchy, or buy the holders and source your own batteries - mainly Samsungs.

I have 3 of the older Pannovo/solarstorm battery packs. I charge them with the original charger, but I also have a separate charger where I remove the batteries and charge them individually to balance the cells. They all still charge fully within about 10 minutes of each other.

I make up packs here in Dorset for my lights range.
£50 for a 4 pack assuming it is the 7.4V standard lamp. I only use genuine LG, Samsung batteries, all fully tested. 3.6 Ahr Lithium Cobalt cells too...

Really? I’ve been using them for at least eight or nine years, with never a problem.

These are the ones I use, 14500 and 18650, the 2400mAh are actually higher capacity than what they’re rated at:

Oddly, the link description says UltraFire, but the photo shows a TrustFire, which is what’s in the flashlight I’ve got in my pocket. Is confused now.

Looking through Torchy’s list, it’s the UltraFire batteries that are really iffy. I’ve got a few of those, which I use in some cheap flashlights, but the TrustFire ones I use in better quality lights, and they seem to be pretty consistent.
The blue UltraFire ones are quite a few years old now, and probably need to go in the battery recycling bin!
Oh, and thanks for the link to Torchy’s site, I’m bookmarking that for future reference! 😬
Looking through Torchy’s site, he doesn’t do a comparison of 14500 Li-ion batteries - anyone know of a similar place, ‘cos I use those batteries a lot. I guess if I stick with the black and red TrustFire ones, like the 18650s, I should be OK, but it would be nice to know of alternatives.

x2 lots of these off ebay, protected cells, pano inside, and good volts

Then this lovely battery box, which is probably made by solarstorm, riding buddies have same box and flawless for several years, can charge phone/garmin off it too whilst riding

Anyone know of a site like Torchy’s that covers 14500 Li-ion cells? I use those a lot in various flashlights, always the TrustFire black and red ones like the 18650 ones above, but it would be good to know of cheaper but reliable 14500 cells.

Cheers guys, thanks for the replies all appreciated. I'll look into it. I've actually returned the original pack to Torchy nearly a month ago and have heard nothing back despite several emails. Hopefully will get in touch soon.
