Yea eating! Same as me 🙁
Cut down the food. Cut down the booze. Net result over three weeks? No change! Now that the snow has gone and I can start to ride the bike again maybe there will be some movement. Maybe. Damned annoying.
I have to say with my 3.5kg, that my week 2 weigh-in was a bit of an anomaly! I put in the body of the email, but guessing it didn't get read!
week 1- 80kg
week 2- 82kg
week 3- 78.5kg
Week 2 was weighed in the evening after a day at work and meal etc, whereas the other two were near enough first thing in the morning! Same set of scales etc. however so should be the same inaccuracies.
I'd love to know how much I really lost over the past week; I had a week off work and had been squirrelling away at my university project work- meaning not much exercise and barely any sleep, but plenty of caffeine and a few missed meals! I expect the weight will go straight back on as soon as I get into a more normal routine again 🙁
It's interesting that last weeks's "winner" with a scarcely believable claimed weight loss has so far not reported in this week. What do we make of that? Maybe the weight loss was due to childbirth!!!
There does seem to have been some interesting weights. I still think some people are sending in lbs losses instead of kg 😉
It all depends how much podman started with. First kg's go off pretty quick if You have more than plenty to loose 🙂 and if he is really trying it can be possible, seems he is doing a good job if the weight is true. For me a good result is usually 1-1.5kg/week loss.
Weather is getting a bit better so should be able to get on the bike a bit more as the cardio sessions on the cross trainer or rowing machine can get a bit boring after 30min, You just look on the time, listen to music etc with the occasional nice looking lady walking pass every now and again 🙂
I need to find some scales which will actually weigh me!!! Might go to the zoo! I'm starting on friday after just coming back from my holiday
Bit of a reverse fluctuation for me over the weekend... damn booze! It was a monster, I think I drank Leeds dry. Question is... can I get back to last weeks point by Friday???
Hoping to start doing some proper focussed exercise too myself, as that is what really works for me. The dietry changes thus far have been fairly minor tweaks but I am planning something a touch more involved from next time I need to hit the Supermarket. Figured that trying the GI/GL type eating plans would be worth a try after some very indepth conversations I had with nutritionists and medical professionals some years ago whilst working in elite sport. Hey... it's worth a try!
Friday bump!
I'm going to go to the hospital and see if they have any elephant scales. If not i'll go to the zoo
Managed to drop 1/2kg this week. Helped by getting for the 2nd time this year yesterday 😆
Just need to get rid of this chest infection so I can do more...
Not been under 14st for best part of 30yrs
Ahh some form of success achieved!! (for me at least)
87.5 last week and 85 this week get in! At last managed to get out on the bike for a couple of rides and seems to have made a difference. Lets hope it lasts???
However, to every reaction there is an equal and opposite reaction and got a couple of invites to go larging it over the weekend and pretty sure the willpower will fail and I'll undo all my work to date with copious amounts of Guiness and kebabs...
I put on a kilo this week.
anyone care for a biscuit `?
i don't understand this weight loss thing. last week with no exercise i lost hardly anything, this week same type of food, still no exercise due to having a cold, but dropped 1.5kg - i was even convinced i'd put on a little.
this weekly weigh in is bl@@dy good motivation though!
Somehow I have lost nearly 1 kg this week! Diet the same but a very hard week at work must have burnt it off.
So its a step in the right direction at least 🙂
wk 1 - 96kg
wk 2 - 95kg
wk 3 - 93.5kg
Wk 4 - 92.5kg
Slowly slowly catchy monkey.
Weigh in time people!
If we are going to weigh 'in time' please can you tell us when this should be!
Everyone getting on the scales at the same time may create some kind of earthquake! 😆
you'll have ours tomorrow am.
Dropped a couple of pound (or just under a kilo) - my first loss in 3 weeks.
Must have been the fact I actually did some exercise this week. Shock horror, who'da thunk? 😉
3.2 kg's now in 4 weeks and I've not been commuting for the last 2 weeks as I've been home looking after the missus.... can't wait for Monday as I'll be back on the SS commuter 🙂
1.5kg loss since starting 🙂 Easy does it! Glass of wine's my treat tonight 😉
I've managed to lose 6.5kg since 1st of January 😀 (102.2 then, now 95.7).
I have done minimal exercise due to work commitments and have just been closely monitoring my calorie intake. It has amazed me how easy it is to eat more than 2000 calories a day even when you think you are cutting back which is what I have tried in the past. I am trying to keep my calorie intake to about or below 1500 and this has seen really good results (and increased my willpower no end).
I seem to remember reading a quote to the effect of - if you do something for a fortnight it becomes a habit - this is so true in my case as I no longer feel the need to reach for the biscuits of an evening when I'm felling slightly hungry. I have got used to the feeling of being hungry and it no longer bothers me.
Hopefully I will be able to start my much planned exercise regime this weekend with the aim of no longer being a fat knacker by the summer.

Same here. Throw in 20 miles a week running and thats a 4.5kg loss since the 4th Jan. Seems a lot to lose still tho, as usually it is recommend no more than 2lbs a week loss rate.

Depends on your starting point, I put on 10kg last year without realising. I didn't get on the scales between January last year and January 1st this year. I anticipate that once I've lost that 10kg it's going to get much harder to shift the rest.
An increase for me this week.
Haven't been calorie counting, just stopping snacking has been a success for me.... when I'm back on the bike, I think using my Xmas Garmin will make a world of difference
Booo I'm rubbish -
Week 1 - 101.7 kgs
Week 2 - 99.6 kgs
Week 3 - 96.7 kgs
Week 4 - 99.9 kgs - WTF!!!!
After a great week last week I have a feeling this week isn't going to be too good...
Out for beer and a curry on thurs nite, probably not looking to promising for the Friday weigh in
I must learn to say no occasionally
Ok guys so to help me along the way I've started a blog. If some of you want to follow it it would be good.
Ok chubbsters....time to get your weights in to Si
Down 1kg this week so nice slow process since the beginning of the year.
wk 1 - 76.2kg
wk 2 - 74.4kg
wk 3 - 73.5kg
wk 4 - 72kg
wk 5 - 71kg
wk 1 - 183.7kg
wk 2 - 180.2kg
It was 177.6 kg after I had been to the gym, but that was unfair
last week 72.8
This week 71.3
hurrah
Think I might have gained this week. I'll hold off for a dump before an "official" weigh in. It might make the difference I need!
Grrrr, bloomin friday weigh in's, am I the only one who just doesn't have time in the morning before work to go down to the kitchen and dig the scales out?
no time for weigh in = no movivation = no weight loss here 🙁
lost sod all for the past couple of weeks, still 92.2kg.
Time to get back on the salads for lunch and hopefully get out on the bike.
Friday works well for me. I can slip at the weekend and then play catch up during the week.
Am I the only one who just doesn't have time in the morning before work to go down to the kitchen and dig the scales out?
Why not just get them out the night before, or keep them in the bedroom?
wk 1 - 96kg
wk 2 - 95kg
wk 3 - 93.5kg
Wk 4 - 92.5kg
wk 5 - 92.5kg (maybe 92, was predump and the scales aren't that accurate. at least I haven't gained!
Ian Pinder - have you got your units wrong? 180kg = 28 stone and a bit.
Nope, deffinatly not wrong.
theotherjonv:have you got your units wrong?

im no good lol not helped by the fact i started with the wrong weight i emailed 82 instead of 84 i also had a kebab last night lol 😉
wk 1 - 89.2kg
wk 2 - 87.9kg
wk 3 - 85.8kg
Wk 4 - 86.0kg
wk 5 - 85.1kg
A change of eating habits only really. Not done much in the way of exercise mainly due to a promotion at work which has left me with no time in the gym.
Must get my finger out! Could have lost a lot more by now.
Still cant believe I lost a bit this week (it might only be 0.4kg but it all counts) as I have been rushed off my feet with work/home and as a result have been comfort cooking this week, including 2 lots of Haggis 😮
Week 1 - 102.2
Week 2 - 100.3
Week 3 - 98.7
Week 4 - 95.7
Week 5 - 94.7
Not too sure why I'm losing weight in whole kgs - if I was looking at that data at work I'd think someone with no imagination was making it up.
I seem to have slowed down after last weeks 3kg loss - not sure how I managed that as I did nothing different to what I have been doing on the other weeks. I wish I could replicate it every week, I'd reach my target weight by the middle of March. 😀
I'll settle for 1kg loss a week though, if I can maintain that rate.
I can't believe I've lost over a stone so far with little real effort - just willpower. I can now easily fasten the top button on shirts which were strangling me before christmas.
Week 1 - 124.5
Week 2 - 124.0
Week 3 - 123.4
Week 4 - 122.7
Week 5 - 121.1
So thinks going steady, though the last 2 weeks have been better than expected! Started more of a structured eating plan (though tonight was pizza - if homemade and healthyfied....) and tomorrow is beer fuelled death!
If I manage a good week again next week, which is possible given the huge contract just starting invloving mucho physical labour I would imagine, then I may hit my first interim goal sooner than expected (120) 🙂
18bikes?
another increase for me, second week in a row.
I need to get back on track, 5 meals out in a week doesnt help.
to the turbo trainer I go
im putting my dads name down, (Mark). he needs to loose some waite. (i have asked him about it)
he has one question.... where will you be stopping for lunch, elevensies, pre-dinner, dinner, tea, after tea, pre-supper, and supper?
but he will join the group 😀
Weigh in tomorrow, I'm not feeling confident.
I have had a bit of a slow week as been a bit under the weather so not really got much exercise in. Hoping for a lb loss tho.
Yeah - fell of t'wagon over the weekend myself and unless there is a miracle overnight I think I may be up a bit this week 🙁
Still, nothing contrary to shifting lard planned for this weekend (ie no beer/ pizza/ beer/ lasgane/ beer which featured strongly last weekend... ahem)
I've not been on the bike for nearly a month due to tendonitis and DIY
Fortunatley I've lost weight as for the last few weeks it's been painting, digging, moving stuff etc........
Got a test ride Saturday for my leg 😯 Hope it's ok so I can get back on the bike for some proper calorie busting rides!!
A week of no sleep or riding due to ill children is my excuse.
I always find I need to eat more when I only get 2 hours sleep!
Woo hoo - weigh in and... same as last week: 121.1! I had hit 122.5kg over the weekend and it wasn't really going anywhere until Wednesday when a bit came off, with 1.2kg between yesterday and today 🙂 So not a loss from last Friday, but I will take standing still for a week over a gain!!!
Back on the wagon again, hopefully get a good couple of weeks in now before the next potential derailment of a weekend away in York... with beer... and more beer. Ahem.
.....and no loss this week. Surprising as while not as active as usual still got 50 miles in on the bike at the weekend and a 7mile run on Wednesday.
Oh well....plateaux central here i come as usual.
1.2kg this week. Honing in on that 100kg's..... 90kg, seems like a plan before the HONC.
very bad week (well, 2 really) been off the bike due to resting my back. managed to put 7lbs back on 🙁
I'm losing, steadily, another 600g this week! Don't have a goal but steady weight loss is how it's done so I'm happy. Just been out for a lovely Thai meal with far too much larrup so I'll step up the exercise tomorrow.
today is going to be bad, superbowl tonight so will be dominos pizza.
I was 102kg on Decemeber 26th 2009.
I'm 95kg now so 7kg lost so about 1kg per week from cutting junk out.
Been doing some riding now and hope to keep losing the lard.
I had to by a pair of size 36 waist trousers before I went on holiday etc
Tight too. But now I am finding I need to use a belt and eventually all the eyes.
Hope to be back in 34 waist trousers next month. And 32 in 2 months.
102kg, 7kg lost and 95kg with 15kg to go before I'm back to 80kg.
Long way away but I will not stop plodding away-if I can do it anyone can as I'm a right junka/choco-holic or was.
Keep it up (or down?) and don't give up-patience and plans help but get riding and eat healthy.
June seems so bloody far away!
date actual target
31/12/09 107.5 107.5
01/01/10 107.5 107.5
08/01/10 104.9 106.5
15/01/10 103.6 105.5
22/01/10 104 104.5
25/01/10 103.6 104.5
29/01/10 102.5 103.5
05/02/10 100.8 102.5
Still ahead of the game (a bit) and should be back in double figures next friday..... then just 10kg to go (or maybe a bit more)... back on the turbo/commute this week I think too!
So weigh in tomorrow..... No confident this week, got to the gym 5 times, and had dominos on Sunday night
Mrs S is doing well currently and I am within spitting distance of being half way to my goal according to todays weight. I'm finding the exercise 6 days a week tiring at times though. Lightest I've been for 8 years.
Had a weekend in London for our anniversary last weekend. I'm not expecting tomorrow to be good news!
So weigh in tomorrow..... No confident this week, got to the gym 5 times, and had dominos on Sunday night
I am spotting the flaw in your weight loss plan 😉
I am expecting a week without loss again as my knackered knee has knackered itself again so not got much exercise done, yet have been eating a bit more out of boredom.
I am off to do Ben McDui/Derry Cairngorm in a wee while, think I will leave the weigh in till I get home....
Well managed to loose a kilo, better then expected. A stone gone so far, 1 down 10 to go
3lb down again this week, nice and steady. but super stoked that i'm now a stone down on starting weight and according to the wii i'm no longer obese!
: )
Hmm my weight is going up! 103.1 last week, 104.5 this week. So much for exercise reducing weight! Well actually according to my body analyser my lean body %age has gone up by 5% this week. That's what happens when you go from 30-40 miles weeks to 120-130 mile weeks in one big jump.
Now have to work out how to lose weight (fat) while my muscle mass is increasing. Hopefully my lean mass will plateau when I continue this mileage and then I'll start to consume the fat reserve. So I think it'll be a few weeks before the weight loss kicks in.
Been a good week somehow - had some buffday choccy and crispy duck pancakes mid-week but managed to loose another 1.7kg... not sure how to be honest but now back below 100kg for first time in 4 years.
Now at 99.1kg this morning!!
Good on you, Ian P - some goal but look s like you're well on your way!!
Flat week for me :/ but I expected to gain weight as I have been stuck in meetings & out for dinner twice this week!
At least it wasn't a gain, must try harder would be my report card.
I've lost the 4lbs I put on in the US last week - so I'm stuck where I was.
But at least I've shaken off the burgers / bacon and eggs / martinis / beer that make my life up when I'm over there!
I'm getting close to the magic 100kg mark. Only another week I guess. The 90Kg for HONC looks like it's on !!!!!
99percentchimp - I'm jealous... can't wait to see the double instead of triple figures on the scales.... It'll be the first time in about 3 years for me 😉
121.1kg last week, 120.4 this. I had hoped to hit 120 today, but it wasn't to be.
Slow but steady is how it is going, but that is fine with me. I should really start doing some proper exercise sometime as that usually gets it shifting well for me.
94.2kg today 😀 7done and 14.2kg for skinny roadie look.
In mean time I will still breathe in 😉
Just came back in to this. First up, apologies for doubting IanPinder's use of units. Way to go BigMan, you're a firm favourite for the main prize if you keep that up and hit your target, and you'll deserve it too.
92kg for me this week - again. It's slow going at present, but 1/ I haven't actually put any back on since the start, and 2/ I'm 9lbs lighter than the start.
It gets frustrating at this stage and this is where I usually start to slip. My goal is to get down from 96 to about 86 so I've done 4 out of 10 but I need to be remotivated. Come on someone, kick me in the backside.
