There are not 16 personality types.
These sort of tools may be useful to aid discussions but there is a reason they are not used for anything more in selection.
In first year psychology the lecturers would often get students to complete one of these surveys and give print out of the results. Students would be asked to rate how accurate their personality type or profile was and typically it would average around 80% to 90% agreement.
Of course, all of the personality profiles printouts that the students received were prepared, all were exactly the same and not based on the students' actual responses.
