Documentary about the 2017 Las Vegas shooting.
First episode is a pretty well made and an intense watch.
Yeah, proper shocking stuff
Second episode was hard to tell what was actual footage and what had been filmed - cleverly done.
Will save the other 2 for another night.
Watched E01 and half of E02. Utterly terrifying. I’d forgotten just how many “bursts” there were.
I’ll be interested to see if any of the interviewees express an opinion on their country’s gun-culture. Given the headliner (Jason Aldean) is a massive country star (I’m kinda a fan of the genre 🤠), there’s a fair chance a lot of the people there would be from the very much pro-gun side of the argument. You can hear it in some of the language they’re using to describe the scene - counting the pops, “firing zone” etc.
The panic though…sheesh!
This'll sound bad, but I don't recall it...given how frequently there are mass shootings in the US, I'm afraid they have all just blended into a single thing and I can't recall any dates/locations or other details.
A sad state to admit as any shooting is terrible, but the frequency suggests that things aren't really being done to help reduce the number of incidents.

I'd forgotten it, it's only because it was the largest death toll (think it's over 60 now with critically injured people dying quite recently) that made me start watching.
Wikipedia suggests some rules were proposed/brought in to restrict certain types of weapons.
From a cold, dispassionate perspective, it was a terrifyingly efficient plan.
When I first saw this on Twitter I thought it was some sort of parody.
To think that the FBI think this is a necessary thing to have to do is pretty shocking.

Active shooter drills are common in all schools across the US, and lockdown drills happen here as well.
Would have been nice to have interviewed Trooper Ross Woodward for a slightly anglophile view.

Nobody interviewed disagreed with the second amendment. The parents who's daughter died stated that they did not, however, see a reason for automatic assault rifles, nor magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. The treating ER physician also upheld the second amendment.
Thanks for letting me know that TiRed. I didn’t want to wait to find out myself. 👍

Wow.
Next time someone comes at me with an automatic rifle, I know now I can fight them off with a vase.
What an incredible programme. The last one is really emotional
It’s staggering how ingrained the second amendment is in American culture that they still endorse it after watching that murderous insanity unfold

That's what struck me as I was watching it.
I don't recall it happening. 😐
