Ok, just seen this. Bit of a late joiner as Ive been out with my dawg for a couple of hours - which I'm counting on this occasion as I only got back home from the middle of a desert a few hours ago, and not sure which way is up.

As for once around the block for a dog walk... blimey my hound would have chewed my leg off out of frustration long ago if he only got 30 mins on a lead. Anything less than 90 mins chasing pheasants or a toy thrown into water each day  and he's a complete PITA.

I'm in.

I think I completed it last year but I honestly can't remember.

Had a big bereavement last Christmas day and it knocked me. Stopped exercise, stopped most things. Started a new job January and just about managed to keep it together enough. Outside of that, it's been just getting the kids around to their things on autopilot. Hadn't run this year until a couple of weeks ago but I've started again now.

I have a lot of things I need to sort out but exercise and good habits usually put my head in a better place so I feel I need to do this. Hoping and expecting it to help.

First day done with a half hour morning run, up and down 4 hills and round a lake.

one down......

after realising that 90mins on a Wed and similar on a Thurs were really taking their toll, i decided to strictly limit myself to 30min sessions, so started with an hour out on the bike, doh.

Day 1 done

A steady 9.5 miles on the leg powered bike, clocking an hour and a quarter of moving time after work.

Possibly wouldn't have made the effort if I hadn't decided to do (attempt) the challenge, so a positive already

I did a 30 minute bodyweight/condition session with Mrs S this morning, a one hour walk this afternoon and 76 minutes on the turbo this evening. I'd have rather been out and about on the bike but I had to be at home most of the day.

It was a bit of flippant text on my part - mine gets considerably more than that! I just meant that for me, you need to go a bit above and beyond your usual walk (however long that may be) for it to count.

Anyone else geeking out? 🤣

I doubt I'll do much with the info, but it might make me more regimented. Thought about adding more info - HR/Zones etc, but as I'm not training seriously thought it would be a pointless exercise.

I'll delete it in a couple of days when I fail and miss a day...

Thought about adding more info - HR/Zones etc,

Wear a smart watch, try to remember to record each activity, more data than you could possibly want will be recorded

I'm not doing it strictly but my son did persuade me to go out for a ride tonight.  What I would like to do is ten or 15 minutes of stretching every day to improve my flexibility.

To my surprise and delight, the gym was ridiculously quiet tonight, got a decent workout in and had time and space to get a decent stretch as well.

I do, which is where I get my heart rate into etc from and also have various apps.

The spreadsheet is just a snapshot of recording my 100 days - and will hopefully help me stick to it

Barbell glute bridges

Timed wall sits

Followed by 40sec on 20 off for 10 minutes on the bike.

All while extremely hungover. 🤮

I do include morning dog walks as I don't normally do them in the week. As long as I have no meetings before 0930, can squeeze in a 5km hike with the two mad mutts.

Ride or Gym tonight. Depends how much it rains today!

Short ride on the road bike, and god I was slow 🙂  Combination of a head cold, I haven't been out on the bike for nearly a month, and the aftereffects of the ultramarathon I did the week before last all seem to have done me in. Still, it was lovely weather for it, and I'm glad I went out. Presumably the next ride will be a bit faster!

Day 2/100 ticked off. 2 commutes, not as extended as I'd have liked. Evening brisk dog walk of 40mins. I know some on here won't count either of those, but I am.

Keep going peeps. Only 98 to go!

Went for a MTB ride. Drizzly and some variable grip. I found a perfect point where tired tyres, moist trail and - probably - rusty technique came together to have me off. Not on the recently healed shoulder but still went down like a sack of spuds!  Still another 1000+ active calorie day and a beer to finish.

Gym circuit and pilates tomorrow. Can't wait 😉

Day 2 was an early kettlebell 20mins, quite enjoying the difficulty of KBs.

Then 5km jog with fungi collection. Chanterelles, hedgehogs and some ceps. Probably last of the year but made a tasty simple pasta tea.

Nice one @Kimbers - thats exactly the app I've been thinking I need.

Just been for a lunchtime walk, an intentionally easy day. Walked for 55 mins, barely 8k steps. Forgot how long it takes for 10k which is a daily minimum for me if walking.

In again this year! Still going from last year, it was completely transformational for me - had started training before but it has been a huge part of shifting over 4 stone. Doing something every day is a non-negotiable for me now.

So far for the new 100 days I've done weights + MTB ride up Tinto, walked a couple of extra tram stop and a gym session + 9 holes golf.

Last night caught up with a mate for a gravel pootle. 53 minutes riding time at a steady pace, sighted one Barn Owl, one Tawny Owl, numerous rabbits.

Followed by 90 minutes pub time, also at a steady pace, but we both needed the catch up.

Day 4 saw me wake up with eyes and nose streaming. Managed to work through until lunch then had a 20min sleep. Felt a bit better after that so did an hour walk with Mrs Reeksy up the adjacent 'mountain' via the Macadamia farm.

Count me in, I've been on operation be less of a greedy bastard for a couple of weeks so this should help with that. Sort of.

Tuesday I rode to work and back

Wednesday i'd seen this thread, so when the wife said she'd left her phone at the yard i pedalled over there and the long way home to retrieve it.

Thursday I was getting the hang of it and pedalled down the canal do Halfords to get a new chain for the lads BMX (seeing as i'd err broken the old one, who knew that you need a whole new toolkit and skillset for BMX bikes?) Then headed on over for a BMX coaching session at Bruntwood park.

In the office again today, so that's ticked off, but even pump track laps have been requested by one of the kids, so that'll be in the books as well!

Yesterday - couple of hours in the local woods slowly remembering how to ride a bike. I've not actually forgotten how to ride I was just riding like utter crap. Interestingly after I had stopped for a bit, done some trail maintenance and started riding again it all felt much better.

Today, in a 'possibly defeating the object of the exercise' way, I did a 50 minute walk with the sole intention of going to greggs.

Day 4 ticked off - Fridays are my NWD, so I invariably do a ride of at least 2 hours. 30km woodsy-texh-xc on the HT.

It was doing this challenge a couple of years ago that got me out of the habit of driving into town and walking or cycling instead. It's something I've retained the rest of the year too, so pretty much a benefit all round.
