And who can resist a couple of shots of Loch Morlich?
Me. That's bloody well who!!!
Now I have Cairngorm-separation-angst 😜Lovely photos as ever @scotroutes. Keep 'em coming. I'll be back there at some point 🙏
Lovely pictures above.I managed an hours walk and 80 minutes at the outdoor gym.Just started to rain as I left.Cheesy garlic bread and John Smiths for my expert recovery foods.
Still going...Windsurfing today, first time in full winter suit for this season...saw a waterspout trunking along offshore!
Well, got a ride in. In the dark. And the cold. And the rain. And i felt like i was getting a cold wet bottom and my mudgaurd was gone. And it was rubbish.
Day 66 - 2/3 of the way there. No specific exercise but papered a wall, did a load of cleaning, walked a little bit around a footy pitch and did some painting. Not necessarily in that order but it's been a busy weekend and I'm buggered.
Keep it up people. Hopefully the positive effects of this are showing through for all. I'm feeling fortunate that they are for me, even if it means my trousers are looser than before!
Mine are tighter due to never ending hunger.Gym work does that to me.
A week of commuting opportunities thinks I. Don't be daft. All going brilliantly til the crank arm breaks off. Getting pretty fed up with the constant run of bad luck at the moment.

Just picked up on this.
Anybody doing the 100 press-ups a day for November challenge? Not doing it for any other reason than to prove I can.
Haven’t posted for the last week, as I wasn’t at all well at the start of last week. Still on this challenge and haven’t missed a day, but been much much harder than I thought to keep going. Probably should have taken a few days off this.
Day 60 - turbo session 28.5 km in 60 minutes
Day 61 - turbo session 23.5 km in 50 minutes and a 30 minute walk with the dog.
Day 62 - 2.24 km swim in 49 minutes and later a 30 minute walk with the dog.
Day 63 - 43 minute walk round central London
Day 64 - 45 minute walk round central London, hopefully some pictures below.
Day 65 - turbo session 28.8 km in 60 minutes, first good workout for the whole week.
Day 66 - swim 2.6 km in 60 minutes, bloody awful swim - zero bloody energy 1/2 way through. Later a 3.3 km walk with the dog for 50 minutes, also very slow. Though the dog loved it.

^ Nice broody autumn pictures there.Better than the boring fog and/or tupperware sky round here.
I spent some time on Zwift this morning. It was minus 6c when I woke up, with freezing fog, and I had a Tour of Makuri Islands to finish 😉
Still 67 days done - 2/3rds complete - and though it feels like we could start counting down now, there's still over a month to go!
Day 67 - emergency house prep to get it sorted and up for sale so we can buy the house we like. That's any specific exercise buggered up this week, but I'll be damn busy and tonight was certainly no exception. Mostly on my knees trying to rectify some minor laminate flooring irritations but I'm buggered after doing that for a few hours.
Still getting out, weather definitely changed over the last week or two, feels a lot wetter and colder. I think we did well with a long tail end of a fairly dry warm Autumn up till now.
Been getting out on the bike, some walks and slightly faster ambles. Trying to get out bouldering once a week too.
A very grey but nice ride on Sunday out to Stanage via Burbage:

Good to see everyone else getting out. It always seems suspiciously sunny in Aviemore.
Day, err, 68?
Lunchtime dip in Loch Vaa. The overnight mist was barely clearing and, in fact, it all rolled in again not long after we left. Maximum air temperatures down to 2C and water now at 6.1C - with ice in the shallow sections.
Not an issue yet, but a sign that the ice axe will need to be packed for future swims.

Back into the home gym this evening for a wee Zwift warm-up and then some weights.
PS - it's always sunny in Aviemore 🙂
I bet scotroutes is looking forward to wielding the ice axe.Brings out the inner Jack Nicholson in him!
Heeeeere's Johnny!
Warmer today, so wetter as a result. Just took myself off for a wee run in the rain, especially for @AndrewL.

Edit: just spotted some blue sky.
That's more like it for late November!
We had a hint of blue sky yesterday.

Better again today but may struggle to get out in the light.
^That's some train station for the middle of nowhere.
I've never claimed that I live in the middle of nowhere. It's a thriving metropolis. We have a Costa and everything. We just like to pretend in order to throw folk off the scent.
The beginning of the World Cup has added another barrier to find the time for exercise but I’ve still managed to get in 30 minutes of resistance training each evening this week.
I’ve invested in a new Strada so I’ve got no excuses for riding in the dark so once the group stage is done I’ll be back on the night rides.
It’s really good to read what everyone else is doing, I need the motivation.
69 Dude!
i might not mention that to tonights Uki
40 minutes Northern Zen yoga with Sharon😉.I think we are now due a roll call of our various aches and pains.Ongoing achilles issues, elbow pain, back twinges and shoulder stiffness here. What issues are you guys living with,at this stage of the challenge.
My apologies to any ladies still doing the challenge.
Day 70. Happy birthday to meee, happy birthday to meee.... etc etc etc
Big plans for a ride out exploring some new gravel tracks came to an abrupt halt when I found that the central heating boiler had gone kaput.
Consolation came later with another dip in Loch Vaa. Water temp down to 5.6C (eek!) but we warmed up a bit with a drink and some banana muffins I'd baked since I was stuck at home.
Very overcast and foreboding on arrival

Topped that up with an hour on Zwift this evening.
I'm not suffering any aches, pains or injuries. Sometimes feel my legs a bit tired but I've not been putting in so much distance this week. I've lost about a kilo in weight. One difference I have noticed is that I seem to have developed a bit more "zip" for getting chores and stuff done. Just like I've had a wee injection of energy. Might be the more regular swimming??
Had an absolutely crap week this week. Only managed one Zwift session as I've been finishing too late at work to do anything, plus the traffic going home has been horrific meaning the usual 75 minute commute has been around 2 hours every day. Hopefully I'll get something in tomorrow and Saturday, Sunday is biking anyway though so that's good. Will have to try and get back in the swing of things next week if I can.
^Ah well,at least your sound of mind and body!
Sea temps are still 11C round here, perhaps I should risk a short swim.Colins 6C sounds a touch grim though.
PS happy birthday @scotroutes.
Expected busy week has been, busy!
Day 68 - needed a rest, work out and fed up. Did a few little house jobs.
Day 69 - little walking to and from footy training, parents evening, bit of food shopping and a late tea.
Day 70 - finally made the time to do some much needed exercise this evening, and feeling better for it immediately.
Happy birthday Mr Routes, raise a glass to you later, two runs 1*weights, and two lunch walks book ended by mini bike commutes this week, might do some extra weights later. Tomorrow will be radiator desludging at the father in laws (might get a walk in) so looking at Sunday for some outdoor action. Dunno what yet.
Happy Birthday @scotroutes
Condolences on DIY @thestabiliser I have pretty much finished months of faffing with bedrooms, wallpaper and woodwork / coving stripping, fireplace fitting, skirting board replacement, floor sanding and painting.
HAve been out on the bike this morning and we seem to have the sun with us .

Loop out to Blacka Moor, Houndkirk, Burbage then back down Blacka Moor and through the woods to home.
MAde it to the climbing works this evening.
Perhaps makes up for yesterday - a lot of walking (11 miles) but I am not sure if it counts as it was between various Manchester pubs......
Good to see and hear what everyone else is up to
Nice to see the good weather putting in a bit of a showing elsewhere. I don't feel so guilty.
I'd planned a walk with the drone today but it was very wet and windy - until early afternoon. To taka advantage of the narrowing weather/daylight window I just headed up a wee local hill (Craigellachie).
The thriving metropolis that is Aviemore

Summit shots were severely restricted due to the windspeed. The wee drone just couldn't fly against the wind and, at one point, I though it was going to end up in Aviemore as I could barely get it back!

Still going, no real aches or pains. Mix of yoga, rowing machine, turbo and windsurfing (twice) this week...crazily windy yesterday....gusting to 70mph! I could barely walk up the beach with my gear as I was being blown sideways so hard!
Well, my 100 days has fallen apart completely mainly due to Dr Anxious-Depression, work, and general knackeredness (mainly due to work). However, rather than beating myself up over it like usual, I've managed to use it to keep me doing more than I would have done otherwise. Thanks to @nobbingsford of this shire, had a very marvellous trip out to deepest, darkest Northumberlandshire (AKA Rothbury 😂) for a rather splendid pedal today. Even managed every climb without walking up any. 😱 Knackered now mind.

Just done the Island Hopper course on Makuri Island on Zwift as part of the Makuri Tour, felt really good and got a boost to my FTP to 220W. That puts me back to where I was after the first summer lockdown where I had a lot of free time and rode loads, very pleased with that. Plan now is to build that up to 230+ by Christmas. Off to Windhill tomorrow for a few hours, will be a chilled workout with friends that works off the calories I'm about to consume at my sister's 40th birthday party 🎂
Day 72 was going to involve an afternoon/evening out in Inverness with a crowd of mates so I snuck in an hour on Zwift in the morning.
Day 73 started, err, a bit slowly... Anyway, I got my act together for a visit to a local hill I hadn't been up for a while.

It wasn't a huge ride but it was nice to get out into that refreshing wind.
Putting my hand up to admit absolute failure in November, COVID vaccine, cold, holiday and another cold are poor excuses but have beaten me at the moment.
Did a few hours at Windhill today, chilled fun but did ride up the push-up track a few times to up the calorie burn count! 1000 calories in just over 3 hours is good going for me when there, especially as I avoided scoffing any trail snacks.
Day 71 - very active morning doing house stuff and a little walk around a small reservoir in the afternoon, visit to parents respective homes in the evening involved walking not driving (also takeaway and drinking).
Day 72 - one of those days that involved Jo specific exercise again but did walk to town and shuffled around a bit.
Day 73 - actual bicycle ride with Mrs Fezza and young boy Fezza. Went to gisburn, half loop plus a load of sessioning on the hope line.
Dont give @Dickyboy I think most have had a few wobbles, i know i have! Sat was a washout due to DIY commitments and almost too. Was going to slump to claiming an hours walk with the family but gave myself a kick un the pants and did 40 mins on the turbo.
Well I ran today...3rd run of the year 😂. Me and the dog did 6k with a bit of walking (only a few minutes) and several stops to throw his ball. Loved it..I miss running, I used to do so much but niggling calf injuries always stop me. The plan is just to keep doing run/walk stuff with Randal with no expectations....he loves it, and his cruising trot is about my long run pace

This is Randal
hi, sorry, wrong thread perhaps, is there a fatclub this year?
Not for anyone on here, obviously 😉
Day 74. Had my double vaccination this morning and a few minor after effects so wasn't sure what I'd be able to get up to today. However, one of the guys from the running club suggested an early evening run so ended up with a fast (for me) 10km through the forest and past Loch an Eilean in time to catch the moon-set.

Day 75 - an indication of the change this challenge is having on me. Despite a decent weather window I decided that some weights and yoga would benefit me more than another ride, so it was 30 minutes of each.
Day 76 - as a rainy weather front is coming in I thought I'd best head outdoors for a ride. 45 km Ryvoan loop with lunch at Nethy Bridge.

Lovely photos, you have however commandeered the sunny weather again!
Murky in the Peak District

Hope everyone is ok. Weather here has still be cold and grey but today a bit more broken up. Set off for an afternoon ride that changed to a night ride.
Headed up through Blacka Moor

Then onto houndkirk

Off past the top of Burbage

On to Stanage

Working tomorrow but may get a chance to do something in the afternoon.
Nice. Particularly liking that 2nd photo.
Yesterday I'd borrowed some Garmin Rally power meter pedals to "calibrate" my wee turbo trainer so I spent some time on Zwift playing around with those. Looks like the turbo is pretty accurate at lower inputs but struggles with higher, sprint levels of power. I'm not sure that I'm bothered enough to do something about it.
Today was a visit to Loch Garten for a quick dip. Nice turnout. Air temp 7c, water 4.8c. I was in the water for about 6 minutes.

When we got home I headed out for a relaxed 5km run. No photos as it was dark 🙂
Struggling badly this week.Mainly walking stretching and yoga.Cold, dark and constant tupperware skies can go do one.Anybody else feel like there walking through Treacle to the finishing line?I've let the side down, so MTFU will start tomorrow.
Hope Stanley is ok. It's been difficult with the damp grey days. I don't think anyone has let the side down. Just getting out and getting some fresh air when we get the chance, or a bit of a workout inside is all good.
I'm not managing any kind of hypothermic antics like scotroutes, I am impressed by your cold tolerance!
Slight incremental improvement!
FTP test last night, improved by 9.
well november was pretty tough, looking back i think ive dropped 9 days now through a combination of excuses, woke up this morning with a cold, so it will just be some yoga/recovery stuff this weekend
thanks for the pics on here and the group on strava which are helping keep me motivated..
Yes,I wish I new how to load videos and images on here.Anyway,a really nice 90 minute hike along the Tees and some exercises. Not much wildlife on show....guess there trying to keep warm.
Still going ok here. Overall I’ve missed 3 days since the start. Just squeezed a Zwift in before heading to Dundee for our works Xmas do. Have a fairly clear day tomorrow so will get outside at some point on the bike.
Sort of missed one day so far, I was in Amsterdam and doing touristy stuff but it was raining and TBH we didn't do enough walking for it to really count. But apart from that, still going with lots of running and a bit less cycling.
Well I've missed several days so far, but I've decided I'm just going to keep going after the 100 days is up! Made it out on the bike just locally the last 2 mornings and even managed to miss the rain on both days. Amazing sky this morning 😁

Hi @monkeycmonkeydo @AndrewL and everyone,
Still here... just!
I'm about halfway through my 4th chemo cycle. Finding it pretty tough tbh. Very tired all the time, back pain, sore fingertips, bla, bla, etc.
I seem to have only about 4 hours of energy on most days but I am still trying to get out as often as possible (probably 4 out of 5 days on average). I've done a few short walks, used the ebike loads and even managed a few rides on a proper bike.
I'm going to arrive at Christmas in a worse physical state than 100 days beforehand, but I'll certainly be in much better shape than if I'd stayed on the sofa! I've got lots of nice new kit too... and some plans for next year 🙂
My mini-goal for this coming week is to get my old Solaris back together and then join the ride out from Cotic Cycles HQ this Friday.. easy group of course!
@stanley - great to hear you're working through it!
Day 79 - a couple of hours on Strava doing the short Fondo route. Just like IRL it was great having a few "hares" to push me a bit harder.
Day 80 - Global Fatbike Day!!!
Frosty start near Alness but I managed to catch some hair frost, which I've only seen once previously.

Glad you are getting out @stanley - that's definitely a good effort.
I like the bike helmet Christmas tree @scotroutes and the leaf @fazzini
I got out after work yesterday for a ride near tideswell, but it was cold and grey so didn't get any photos.
Slow trot around in the dark today.
Fingers crossed for some frosty blue sky days later on this week.
Day 81 - feels like the end is fast approaching now.
9:30 swim in Loch Vaa. Just caught the first rays of sun of a frosty morning. Air temp -1C, water temp +3.9C.

30 seconds after I arrived at the summit, the mist/cloud rolled in and I saw nothing, so I walked back down to Loch An Eilean for a couple of fly-bys of the castle.

@sotroutes+harem!I think that pickaxe will be making an appearance soon.
Day 82. Tomorrows forecast is either for some lovely snow - in which case I hope to be out with the fatbike or (more likely) cold, wet and windy - in which case I'll probably stay at home and use the gym. That being the case I thought I'd better get a run in today so did 11km down from Badaguish to home. I managed to set another season PB for the 10km but it's a bit of a cheat as the route is predominantly downhill.
No scenery shots today so have one of my grizzly fizzog instead.

Updates are getting a bit scarce now. I hope there's a few more lurking and just not posting 🙂
Hoping for frozen ground and blue skies here over the next few days. A dusting of light snow for aesthetic purposes would be acceptable too.
Got out this afternoon, probably should have put more layers on as it was pretty chilly

Updates are getting a bit scarce now. I hope there’s a few more lurking and just not posting 🙂
I'm struggling to keep the momentum going purely due to work and family taking up most of my time. Only managed 3 days last week and have yet to do anything this week so far too.
Enjoying the updates from everyone else though especially @stanley, makes me feel very inadequate though!
Still got the streak going, just not very interesting to be posting about.
Club night ride tonight though, actual bikes in the woods.
@stanley, great to read that you’re still on it!
I’ve had a bit of a break from riding since the football started and now can’t wait to get out for a ride tonight. I have been doing weights every day for half an hour alternating between upper and lower body each day and in two weeks feel much stronger. It’s something I’m going to continue through into the new year.
Great pics @scotroutes, the end is very much in sight.
Sat in Smackton library after a trip along the Tees.Freezing but fun with a bit of dirt jump/skills thrown in at the end.I think the ride home will be bracing.
Thanks again for the positive comments 🙂
Over 50km and 900 metres on the emtb today. Below zero degrees for most of the ride. Beautiful blue skies and sunshine. Took 30 minutes in a very hot shower to thaw out afterwards!
Overnight snow didn't amount to much (though it's trying now). However, it was enough for a thin covering on the beach at Loch Morlich

Followed that up later with an hour or so on Zwift and some weights in the gym.
Maybe fatbike tomorrow??
Still going here. Bit of Zwift mixed up with other bits and pieces. Had a day off on Monday so went to Comrie Croft which was great. Bit of snow on the tops.
Tonight had a night ride in amazing conditions. Trails dry and frosty with crisp still air and flooded with moonlight. Amazing.
Beautiful. That looks like Xmas lights in the last photo!
Day 84 - no snowmaggedon!
The forecast snow event didn't really happen but I was determined to get out and enjoy what little there was.
Not much at lower levels.

As an aside, on todays ride I surpassed my total annual distance for every year other than 2019 - currently 7,281km.
Starting a new job has knackered this week for me but lunchtime finish on fridays so going to do a 2hr run (with probably a not insignificant walking component)
Well done all who are still on it. Apart from Scotroutes, who makes me sick. 😜
Popped out after work. Hovering around freezing. Lovely full moon and rode the top field above Blacka Moor by moonlight.
My phone camera is not great generally but rubbish in the dark.
Lots of good photos above.

Actually managed to get in a 45 minute session on Zwift with a pace partner this evening! First chance for nearly a week. Hoping to get a proper ride in this weekend, don't care if it's cold I just want to get out there and pedal.
Not full of beans today, but really wanted to get out as the weather was lovely and back in work tomorrow.
Slow ride with lots of stops .
Up to Holmesfield

Up Johnnygate

Obviously stopped for a swim in a Scotroutes style! Lovely and warm...... (may not have actually done this)

Over Big Moor

Totley Moss and the descent from the big cairn

Hope everyone else well and weather has been similarly kind near you.
A wee bit more overnight snow and it was -2C this morning when we turned up at Loch Vaa

Followed that up this afternoon with 30 mins on Zwift and an hour of Yoga with Kassandra.
Oops. I meant to ad this one of me and Mrs S. She was doing "dip a day" during November for a charity but extended it due to illness. It was her final day today.

Day 100 for me! I started on 1st of September and will continue my routine now till Christmas.
Went out on the single speed around the local woods for a couple of hours this afternoon. Absolutely freezing!!
Now glowing in front of the fire with the football.
