Afternoon half term walk with wombat and the girls, 3.35 km in a leisurely 48 minutes. Done for today.

No missed days this week with a mix of walks and Zwift, some races others just spins in groups or with one of the Pace Partners. Really starting to see improvements in my base fitness and the weight is still going down, all Win so far.

After 6 days of barely being able to get up stairs at home I managed a walk yesterday. Covid (#4 😢) has completely buggered up my 100 days. I'll make up for it though, I'll just keep going through Xmas too.

Day 43, day off work, 6:30 am swim, 3.12 km in 71 minutes, not too bad, just shy of 2 miles in the pool.

Lunchtime walk with wombat and the girls, 3.75 km in the woods in an hour. But now I’m mullered.

Not missed a day so far, weight is coming down and whilst I’m still not mtb bike fit, fitness is steadily improving alongside the physio rehab exercises. Quietly pleased so far.

Day 43 - homeworkout app this morning consisting of shoulder exercise with some awful hover press-ups. Then an hour or so pootling and messing on the bike with my 2 boys.

Weight also coming off me, started this with a bit of looseness appearing around the waste and now mostly gone, my belts are also on their last hole without doing a right lot!
Feeling better, stronger, fitter too.

Day 43.

Loch Vaa this morning - out to the Crannog and back. It's very exposed at the moment.

Rubbish windsurfing session today...only bothered for 30 mins as it was too light. But windsurfing on Wednesday, rowing machine, turbo and yoga is keeping me on track.

Hopefully some decent wind and waves tomorrow...

another week and still on track although i might need to review my routine, as by Thursday night which is a regular group ride, im empty, plenty of stamina just no acceleration..I feel ike i might need to eat more also
monday & tuesday bike commute
wednesday Ju Jitsu or Gym if class is canx (two weeks running...the motivation to go home, grab gym kit and go out again at 2000 is difficult)
Thursday night bike ride - 2.5hrs this week when i could have done with taking it easy
Friday - gym before i leave work
Saturday yoga (unless the days plans offer opportunity for a ride or long walk alternative)
Sunday mtb ride, plus walk in the arvo

great to see some pics, I will try to remember to make the effort (and then work out where to host and upload them...)

still resisting the smar****ch/fitness tracker, just, if only a refurbished garmin instinct solar would also take a 2hr music file and connect to my earbuds...

Had the week off work, but have been doing house stuff which means glossing from 9pm to midnight most days whilst the kids are in bed and therefore unable to finger it all 😁

So exercise has been sporadic at most and I've had a couple of chest days where I've just extended the dog walk, but still doing something every day. Planning on getting out on the bike on Sunday, as I've not been out on it for getting on two weeks now 😨

Day 44, started with a turbo session using wahoo systm app, 28.3 km in 60 minutes, hour long walk whilst working for 2.6 km, lastly a 30 minute walk with Wombat and my daughter. That should do it, and I believe it all counts as I didn’t have to do any of it. Slightly tired now.

Another 40km gravel social with the Cairngorm Cycle Club today. 4C at valley level when we departed but it soon burnt off for a warm, relatively breeze-free day.

@scotroutes great pics, that looks a lovely gravel route.

Day 45, swim 2.64 km in 64 minutes, felt very slow but according to garmin was slightly faster than normal I did want to do 4 km today, but nowhere near the right energy levels to achieve that this morning, 2.8 km was as far as I was going today. This is when the lack of a proper rest day becomes apparent.

Lovely walk this morning with Mrs fazzini. Simonside near Rothbury. One of my favourite-ist places. First time we've been since Storm Arwen. Bit more of a struggle than usual uphill, post covid. The sun eventually came out too 😁

Day 44 - not a right lot, but worked up a sweat and achey firearms changing tyres on Mrs Fezzas bike. Little bit of walking were I didn't have to but thought it best to not do much. Though did many laps of a pool table and played darts for a while in the evening.

Day 45 - nearly written off due to aforementioned pool table/darts evening which definitely involved rum. Managed to get over to gisburn forest for the first time in a while and a trip round there. Nice to finally get some double figure mileage in which I haven't done since earlier this year due to my wrist.

Day 45 - with "rest" in mind, I did a 8km walk from the house up to some wee waterfalls I've not visited for a while. They're obviously best when there's been a good bit more rain but it's a lovely spot nonetheless.

My wander on the way back brought me by some nice singletrack trails that need an explore with the bike. That might be on the cards for one day this week.

I'll be adding a yoga sesson later this evening.

@fazzini - good to see you're getting out. Don't push things. Nice collection of autumnal colours there.

@walowiz - thanks. I might write up that route for the next issue of the Scottish Walks & Cycling magazine.

No actual fun type exercise but two solid days of walling. Made harder by my labourer (father in law) throwing himself off a 100ft cliff whilst climbing and breaking his back. Selfish bastard (he's pretty miraculously OK but very very nearly died). So it might not meet the official definition but i can feel it so I'm counting it.

Registering anothe two fail days in the last week sadly. Friday I just completely ran out of time and Sunday I was sore after pushing myself way too hard on Saturday, planned a gentle 2 hours along he Strawberry Line railway path between Yatton and Cheddar but ended up doing an ascent of the Gorge (chasing roadies up it on the hardtail) then hammering down a few bridleways as an addition. Felt fine that evening but come Sunday I was very stiff and sore so completely lacked any motivation to do anything! Will try and do a few longer exercises during this week as a sort of catch-up to compensate.

Had my first blip last Friday. A forced last minute change of plans meant I couldn’t get out in the evening as expected and ran out of time to do anything. Saturday was a 28 mile social ride with the cycling club. Sunday started with some garden work, ripping out a rotten old wooden swing seat that came with the house and digging some foundations for an outbuilding. Then in the afternoon had a lovely local MTB ride testing out new winter tyre combo. Yesterday was an hour and a bit walking around guising with the kids.

First failed day yesterday. Most of my work for the last couple of weeks has been laying flooring and fitting skirting so I have been on my knees a lot! My right knee has swollen up and the only thing I could do last night was to take the weight of my feet and sit with an ice pack strapped to my knee.
Hopefully tonight I will feel like getting out for a pedal but will just see how the day pans out.

I was busy yesterday so planned a Zwift session. However, my legs just didn't want to play so I sacked it off after 35 mins. Still in the game - just!

Managed to lose track of my days, so just re-numberrd a few of the in Strava. Last week has been a few cop-out exercises, like extended walks with the dog and resistance bands. But did a 10k last night in the pissing rain, which was pretty cathartic, and I felt surprisingly fresh.

One issue is that I've not been on the bike for 3 weeks now. Mainly because I need to adjust the brakes and just haven't had time. Plus if I'm out on the bike I want to make it a couple of hours, just to make it worthwhile and I don't have that much free tim currently.

That being said we'll be halfway there on Friday!

Well done to everyone still going, and some great pics taken too. I was loving the daily exercise until I got the worst bout of Flu I've ever had.. Barely made it out of bed for a full week, and 3 weeks off the exercise as I couldn't breathe. Broke the exercise drought with some riding up at kielder at the weekend. I'll try again next year!

Well, I'm feeling crap again today but, in the spirit of the challenge, I opted to walk to and from town rather than cycle or drive this morning. That's an hour of walking I'd not usually have done. I might manage something else later ..

Missed yesterday’s check in.

Day 46, very very tired, overslept and then work kept getting in the way of me getting up and doing something. So I walked home the very long way round and walked everywhere I could during the day, managed to do do a 38 minute walk for 3.2 km and all up just under an hour of good quick walking. Counts as without this challenge I would never have walked.

Day 47, swim 2.4 km in 54 minutes. Had planned to do more, but again lack of energy.

Very nearly half way through.

Day 47 - swimming at the local leisure centre, managed 22 lengths in total which is easily 8 lengths more than my best. Didn't struggle at all this evening apart from toes cramping at the end. Good progress, feeling great for it.

Day 48, early doors turbo session using wahoo SYSTM app 28.2 km in 60 minutes.

Was quite tired when i did this and somehow I was in a trance like state doing 170 watts watching deadwind on netflix and 45 minutes went by that I cannot remember at all.

Day 48 is another fail sadly. I've somehow managed to pick up a virus again that presents like COVID but only lasts a day or two, this si the third time this autumn. It's left me feeling very weak and achey with a splitting headache and a sore throat. I did a Zwift training session yesterday so I'm guessing it got me then as it was a pretty hard one so probably left me a bit weak. Was feeling rough this morning, terrible at lunchtime but getting better since about 3pm so if it follows the last two times I'll be fine tomorrow evening. Bloody annoying.

Day 48 and I'm again feeling a bit crap. I think it's a combination of mental and physical. Anyway, I forced myself onto Zwift for 30 minutes and followed that up with another 30 minutes of yoga. Can't help but feel I'm letting the side down here so I really must make more of an effort tomorrow! 🙂

Great stuff that so many are still onboard. I get more envious of Scotroutes' adventures by the day! I think he should invite us up there in Spring for a 100-dayer-team ride out 😉

It's looking like my target is now "70 out of 100days..." I've been getting out on the Orbea Rise (so glad I bought an ebike), occasional local walks and a bit of yoga. It still feels great to be able to do these things, although some days I just don't have any energy so just potter around the house, garage, etc.

Round 3 of chemo at 12:30 today. Full of steroids again, so no sleep and have a bright red fat-face at the moment! Just about to head out for an hour or so walk before the fun begins.

Keep at it everyone 🙂

If anyone ever needs any local "guiding" then there's an open invitation. Just be aware that it's at old man pace!

Day 49 kicked off well with a wee swim in Loch Vaa. Mrs S is doing a dip-a-day in November, raising some pennies for Macmillan so it was nice to join her this morning. Air temp was 6c, water temp 9c.

Tentative walk in

In the highly unlikely event I'm ever in the area I'll bear that in mind. You're not getting me in a loch in winter, though!

Short rainy run with the dog this morning, and another run coming up later with the club.

Day 49  - part 2.

As I was only in the water for 10 minutes or so this morning, I did a couple of laps if a wee loop in High Burnside this afternoon, chasing waterfalls again.

Hours walk and 77 minutes at the outdoor gym. Gorgeous day for the time of year. I think yesterday's stretchers were a good idea as well.Of for a pint of John Smiths now.

Day 49, had to wait until midday to get past the tiredness that is quickly creeping in. Turbo session using wahoo systm app, 28.3 km in 60 minutes.

Headachy and sore from yesterday, am hoping the headaches are just the cold weather and nothing else. Maybe we could run this challenge again when it’s warmer and a little easier to get motivated to do. Just saying.

@stanley top effort sir. Hope it’s all going well.

Some great pics above, would love to try the loch swimming, but man that looks cold.

Day 49 - no chance today, Thursdays are always awfully busy and still haven't stopped. So no exercise today unfortunately. Planning a bike ride whilst kids are at school tomorrow though.

Day 50 - Half way mark, feeling good. Ride to top of the local hill today, twice. Felt decent afterwards so fitness is improving. Good to get out on the bike of course.

Day 50 - woohoo made it half way !

Swim today 2.66 km in 60 minutes, very lazy stretched out stroke and rate, yet according to garmin much quicker 100m rate than normal. Maybe slow is fast after all.

Day 50 - no breaks!

I'd pictured doing something truly memorable but household "issues" meant I couldn't get enough time away. I made do with a 36km ride on Zwift this morning then another Loch Vaa session with Mrs S and friends. After the overnight lows of minus 6C, the water temperature had dropped from yesterdays 9.1C to todays 8.1C. Time to start restricting time in the water I think. Once acclimatised, it's too easy to forget the physiological impact of the low temperatures so managing duration is critical.

Lots of kudos to all those still participating, whether you've skipped a few days or not. Seeing/reading about everyone else's efforts keeps me going!

I was planning on getting some photos on the ride today, there are some wonderful views from the top of our local hill. Alas I am not in the habit of doing so, completely forgot until I came home.

tough week this one.
tuesdays commute to work was in torrential rain, so took the quicker route which is only 20mins, when i finally left the office just after six, i discovered my front light either succummed to the rain or i accidentally left it on - absolutely no safe way to get back, had to call the missus for a lift.... so now my suit is in the wrong place, my bike is in the wrong place and my bike shoes are still damp.

roll on Wed - back to Ju Jitsu and the colder damper weather is telling through my knee (broken 1 year ago, next week)
Thursday was out on the MTB reminding myself how to ride a bucking bronco with pedals, mostly sideways 🙂

Friday was a rough day at work and i failled to get into the gym before going home....frankly gutted that my first missed day was D.50.

now to pick myself up and get back on it.

Day 51 - pull up bar out and a calisthenics app workout. Approx 40 mins worth, not too difficult so think I'll have to step it up to the next level. It's very easy workouts at the moment and a long way to go before I have actual upper body strength.

Second fail on Friday 😔 Wife’s car broke down so had to drive out to meet her and get that sorted and then girls had swimming club championships so the day just got away from me.

This morning was supposed to be a road ride with the cycling club but wet and cold so took the gravel bike out for a spin instead.

Have a look at the previous years, I reckon you might be on to something?
I can and have for some time now, only dreamt about what @scotroutes gets up to 😀.
My bad knee only kept me grounded for one day and I’ve been pedalling again for the last three days.
The colours and light you have, at late afternoon this time of year is really special and is motivating me to get out for the last throws of daylight. The winter wildlife is returning to Norfolk, I’ve already seen fields full of Pink Foot’s and a Hen Harrier with the real bonus of regular encounters with a Barn Owl.
The second half of this challenge is definitely the hardest but most rewarding when next summer you realise that the effort you made has paid dividends. Keep on keeping on.

It's the weekend, so an opportunity to get together with a few of the guys and introduce them to a couple of spots they'd not visited before. Two gravel and two "XC" MTBs meant that pacing was a bit variable as the surfaces changed through the route. Only 27km and 360m of ascent, but it seemed more than that!

Photos: Yep - I am making a special effort to document my days at the moment. I'll go back to being lazy about it after Xmas 🙂

Well, I can't even get close to the majesty of @scotroutes scenery, but in a couple of spots I can pretend I'm back in the Highlands 😂 not a long ride but just nice to be back out 'properly'.

Cross-country cutlery 😂

Day 52, swim 3.08 km in 65 minutes, much quicker than normal, which I’m sure is all down to this challenge.

Weather is total rubbish today, so not planning on going outdoors if I can help it.

Is that thisisnotaspoon in the pic above ?

Saturday I took it easy, just parked at the opposite end of town to what I needed and walked the scenic way through a few parks. Did about 2 miles and was so much better than just nipping down an escalator and back up again if I'd used the car park above the shop I was going to! Would have walked into town and back but that's 4 mile and I was going elsewhere afterwards.
Today (day 52?) I've just done the longer route on the Tour of Makuri on Zwift. Got caught up in a decent group that pushed each other all the way round as it was a long way back to the next group, a proper workout and good fun. No IRL riding this weekend and no chance the next one either so a bit disappointed about that as I really like being out in the woods during the change of season.

Lots of kudos to all those still participating, whether you’ve skipped a few days or not. Seeing/reading about everyone else’s efforts keeps me going!

Says the guy who has the best pictures of the thread every time! Helps me keep going though so keep on getting motivation from everyone else.

@scotroutes it's a little bit of random cross-country cutlery. Doesn't everyone have a piece of cutlery hiding on their trails??? 🤔🤔🤔😂😂😂

Nowhere exotic - Surrey. It’s rained a lot and now just dreary, grey and miserable. Looks much better weather in @scotroutes pics.

It’s been damp and miserable all weekend but still managed a couple of hours out both yesterday and today.
I probably wouldn’t have gone out this morning if I not for this challenge, I went out, got wet but not cold but really enjoyed myself even if the weather was poor. Got me thinking, it’s very rare that I regret getting out on the bike even for just an hour. I always feel better for it.
Done a lot of pedalling so going to work on resistance training this week to make up for missing a few sessions.

Day 52 - couple of mooches about the town. Probably around 3 hours total. Nothing strenuous just nice to get out, even if weather is a bit naff.

Day 52. Another day, another loch.

Headed round to Loch Garten for another dip. Caught some afternoon sunshine but the water is down to 7.7c - the coldest so far this season.

Day 53 - had all intentions of doing some form of specific exercise this evening. Then got playing the drums and now it's almost sleep time. I got my heart rate up in that near 90mins of trying to write and play something that doesn't yet exist, plus I did a bit more shuffling about at work/after work than I normally would.

Still maintaining the streak. (Not done that ftp test I promised yet though).

Zwift has been my saviour throughout this challenge, plus rolling around the living room floor with free weights.

Has anyone managed a full 53 and counting where all activities are outdoors?
