You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I think I'm going to do core or yoga as a minimum everyday. Feeling full of the cold so week1 was good the next week will be a slog.
Yesterday was an easy day but I reckon I did do about 30mins of walking between family commitments. Today was a 3 HR ramble in the Borders. My local leisure centre has a beginner yoga class for men on Sunday morning so that's the aim for next weekend. A step in the right direction.
Did the Red Rat Rampage, organised by the team at Eyam Pump Track. Good fun although quite a big ride for me and my current level of fitness at 36 miles.
Think I'll take it easy tomorrow.
Day 9. Accompanied my daughter rollerblading, mainly on the bike but also a skills session running alongside, turning, holding hands. Over an hour in all.
D8 - migraine, meh!!!
D9
Paddleboarding wet session - self rescue, rescuing others, general bumbling about but bloody windy so a hell of a workout!
Day 9 is another Zwift session but I've also been for a walk at the local rocky beach too, needed to get some fresh air after all that staring at a screen!

Just a 45 minute blast down the canal and nature reserve today. Tried to push it through the wind though so still good exercise.
Been at the shooting club today for our monthly range day, with a 2 hour drive either side, so not had chance to do a great deal. However, lots of walking to and fro to change targets and a short walk when I got back just now, just tipped me over the 30 mins.
Gym tomorrow but upper body only as my leg is still kaput after my bike spill on Friday.
I’ve had a recovery day, extended dog walks both this morning and afternoon coupled with some stretching and foam roller which has hopefully sorted my painful hip.
Sandboy Jnr has completed this challenge at least twice, started last weekend and has now got some of his flatmates at Warwick Uni roped in for 90 days before Christmas.
The challenge spreads its wings!
Day 7 blowing a gale and bouncing down outside. I could see it far enough today but still got 35 mins on Zwift.
Day #9 - swim 3 km in 64 minutes, very very slow - bad nights sleep and not enough time for a full recovery.
Walked wombat later 2.6 km in 40 minutes, she’s also not fast today.
Evening ride after work on Friday -on the plateau from Eyam, out through Foolow and back via the Barrel at Bretton (no pint unfortunately) definitely needing the lights now, photo a bit murky

Yesterday feeling not quite 100% so a walk in the woods
Today a ride out towards Big Moor and back via Holmesfield
Bit of a walk in the woods later.

Good to hear what everyone else up to.
9. Steep hilly walk this morning. Then ran the line at an under 14s football match. Ended up with 15 k steps.
Distinct lack of cycling in my first 9 days. Hoping to resolve this this week.
Days 8 and 9 - Adventure Race training!
I'm claiming a 24hr event as both days. I need to work out the more precise distances but roughly 90km bike, 25km kayak and 25km trek.
24hr Adventure Race training event with a mate to help get him ready for Expedition Africa (AR World Champs this year) in a few weeks time. Race base at a little village hall near Church Stretton, so some decent hills nearby. Started Saturday lunchtime and did the following:
Bike 1: Ticklerton - Wroxeter(ish)
Kayak: Wroxeter - Ironbridge
Bike 2: Ironbridge - Ticklerton
Trek: Ticklerton - Church Stretton - Ticklerton
None of which, bar the paddle, were exactly a direct shortest route, either!
Got about 90mins kip between the second bike leg and the trek; got in off the bike about half midnight, ate, slept and headed out again about 4am. Didn't get as far as we'd have liked on foot but conditions and time dictated heading back a little early. Still a very good long play out!

Walked up the Sugar Loaf this lunchtime. Should at least offset the cake and biscuits I'll be 'forced' to eat at my parent's house this afternoon.

3 days riding in the peak district done this weekend. Need to squeeze a quick half hour in tonight between work and visiting my parents.
Karate cancelled so 1/2 hr of hill repeats on the cross bike

Day 8
30mims running. Lovely evening made it easy to get out the door and see the last of the sun.
Just back from a fast 22 miles on the road bike, recovery day yesterday was just what I needed.
Going to do some more stretching before going to bed.
Edit - just heard Jnr has had an hour in the gym and a sauna. Very nice!😀
Ride in the afternoon up to Blacka Moor and Houndkirk area

D10
Flailing arms around to some 'rum and bass' (Beatsaber)
Another just a walk around the block tonight. Feels like a cop out but still better than nothing I suppose
Day 10 - 2 mile swim in 71 minutes, felt very slow, but the time isn’t too bad. Am already getting that classic over trained feeling of constant fatigue.
Walked wombat later for 30 minutes, she was fast tonight, funny little thing was keen to get the walk over and get back home!
Will post some pics of wombat
Edit some great pics on this thread
10. Gym sesh with son 2. Christ, he’s pretty strong! Or I am weak is more like it.
Got the gravel bike out to tempt me to put foot on pedal.
@rockbus - definitely better than nothing. Keep at it. 10% done today!
400 press ups 400 sit ups. WFH and running around with the kids has limited me today, but day 10 done.
Not joined this, as can't commit to EVERY day - however, gym, bike, circa 8k steps, something most days. Thought I'd done well at 61k calories burned in September, until I did the math and that's only 2440/day - including estimated calories burned at rest. Thought it would be more
Kids and domestic duties limit leaving the house, so mostly doing bodyweight/no equipment type exercise sessions, with some pull-up bar stuff.
Interested in any youtube exercise videos that people want to share, currently alternating between a few of the below, but need to mix in a few more to keep it interesting.
Minimal talking, enough gap between exercises to get ready for the next etc, count down timer.

I'm under no illusion that I'll end up looking like the guys in the videos, but they're enough to be a challenge for now and I feel stronger than I have in many years.
Only 90 days until xmas...
Did two laps of the Verderer's trail at the FOD this morning, plus a run down Corkscrew/Launchpad. The ground is rather wet and muddy now, not quite enough to lose all the grip but it's not far away.
Blast round the local country park on the XC bike, sort of hill reps, 4 times up the hill with different descents each time.
Strava only says 36 minutes moving time, but I was out for 50 od minutes and didn't stop apart from when I had to turn round cos the trail was too over grown! Need to check my settings...
Half an hour each of weights and yoga today. I'll see what tomorrow brings along with Storm Agnes.
Day 11 - turbo session before work, 38 km in 71 minutes, 30 minute walk with wombat early evening. Done for today.
Here is Wombat.

Day 9 turbo bit of a struggle tbh. Will persevere.
11. I have just finished 30 mins of yoga and stretching which I needed after muscle stiffness after a gym sesh last night. I guess I had a mildly active evening helping to run youth football too. But still no cycling.
Assuming I was signed up to this
D1 - 1hr 24m weight machines @ gym
D2 - 42m walking, presumably more than just moving about as picked up by watch, but no planned activities
D3 - 1hr 14m weight machines @ gym
D4 - 1hr weight machines @ gym
D5 - 2hr emtb ride
D6 - Nothing of note
D7 - 2hr 14m normal MTB ride
D8 - 1hr 17m weight machines @ gym
D9 - 1hr 17m emtb ride
D10 - 1hr 14m weight machines @ gym
D11 - nothing yet, but emtb ride tonight
Not too bad at keeping active really
30 minutes easyish leg sesh in the gym today, working around some knee pain. Then 20 minutes of static bike intervals.
Rode to and from the folk’s last night, 14 miles each way at a nice steady pace and just finished an hour of weights.
Hoping to get out off road tomorrow.
Unexpected visit by friends meant a change of plans. Walked into town to meet them and just finished 40 mins of gym. MUST get out tomorrow!!
Another Zwift training session today although unexpended it by 30 mins to get another route badge.
Actually feeling a positive benefit now from all this activity, mainly in my endurance which has been a real weakness for me for a good year. Keeps the motivation up to build on that!
managed to go for a run this evening
I really suck at running
Slooow 5k tonight. Everything hurts!
Tomorrow and Friday might have to be extended dog walks, so my legs recover for park run on Saturday. It's a special one as one of the marshalls, a lovely old guy that's been doing it for years died last week.
Core and strength training yesterday and a run today. All good.
12. 30 mins of Beginners Pilates with Nicole. Confirmed what I knew from doing yoga videos: I am about as flexible as a fridge-freezer.
Given the weather tonight an indoor session was necessary, dusted off the turbo, fired up the drum and bass and only just managed half an hour. I hate the turbo.
Day 12 - had to take today as a recovery ish day. Lunchtime Walk along the thames 4.3 km in 47 minutes.
you know it’s funny, without this challenge I’d keep working, taking calls etc and work straight through all day. But for these 100 days, at lunchtime ish I just get up, walk out the door and go do something for at least 45 mins. The minds a strange place sometimes.
No wombat pics today.
@walowiz - I think I said in a previous post that doing the challenge in the past gave me the incentive to walk into town, shops etc and that change of routine has sort of stuck with me. Hopefully it will have the same effect on you!
@bonni - thanks. I might give that a go on the next "slack" day.
My second 5k on the treadmill today. I haven’t looked forward to Christmas this much since I was a kid 😀
But for these 100 days, at lunchtime ish I just get up, walk out the door and go do something for at least 45 mins
Win win, I’d say both the exercise AND taking a proper break from work are good habits
Last track of days but Zwift intervals late on tonight mean I'm still going.
Recovering nicely from a nasty wee cold. Tuesday was 2hrs on the ebike just bashing round local loop/fields.
Last night was a couple of wahoo strength and mobility workouts
Realised I got my days wrong - 11 should have been 12.
Anyway, took our chances with Agnes and got lucky - 15.3 miles, 2000ft, 1hr 49 mins on the eeb. Was steady away with my leg powered mate, so I turned the power down to 20% assist, 50% peak power
Well days 8-12 were a complete write-off due to some horrible flu-like thing I’ve had. Managed to walk the dog and that was my lot, even then it was only because my other half was even worse than me!
Back to it today with a 45 minute pootle on the MTB. Nothing strenuous as everything is hard work still.
Onwards and upwards!
I've only managed walks - I have covid again 🙁
Get well soon @fazzini.
Out on the bike after work Tuesday which quickly turned into a night ride.
Trot about after work last night, it was very mild. The storm was very underwhelming in the Peak.
Today rootled out on the commute bike and heading out bouldering later. The weather seems very dull and humid again today.

Day 13 - Storm Agnes came to nowt really so it was off for a bit of a hike today

Up to a loch

For a bit of a swim

Water temp 11.4c - same as the air.
And then did a 5km run round some local woods scouting out a route for running club on Monday
Day #13 - early swim 2 miles in 69 minutes, later a walk with Wombat 2 km in 30 minutes.
Did these today, along with yoga they'll be my filler days.
Listed them out on paper, 1m each x 2
Ì'm in Ayrshire for a bit storm agnes turned out to be dry but windy . That's my excuse for taking 80 mins to do 11 miles on the road bike.
