Day 58 - bit tired today, so walk by the thames during my late lunch 4.35 km in 50 minutes.

The Monday night club gravel ride saw a large group of 4 out tonight! Think 12 sensible people dropped out 😂. Bit breezy to say the least, and a few puddles including one I thought I'd need the RNLI to help with! Glad I got out though. Day trip to Edinburgh for work tomorrow so a walk is in order methinks.
Day 58.
An hour of dog walking - I'm counting because it's not even my bluddy dog 🙂
20 minutes yoga with Ash, an hour of weights and an hour of Zwift. Taking it easy on the latter, with just a wee uptick in effort for the last 5km or so.
No photos today, but here's one of me on the final descent on Saturdays run.

Day 58 - walk 4.1 km in 44 minutes, then 2.25 km walk later in 26 minutes. Very very tired today. Like above work could have completely got in the way today, but my colleague Marina told me to get up and get out for a walk in the rain. Weirdly quite nice walking in the rain, for once it was super quiet on the thames walkways. Still could have done with a total lazy arse day today.

I knew today was going to be busy and possibly a late night so I went for a run early this morning.
The street I was working on had a gas leak, everyone was made to leave their houses so I had a free afternoon.
Still very breezy but enjoyed a two hour ride mixing up as many off road tracks, trails and riverbank.

Day 59 - morning swim 3km in 61 minutes, took wombat on a very leisurely walk later 2.2 km in 32 minutes. Done ✅
Morning swim as planned.

Water at 9.5c felt much warmer than the 5c we've been experiencing at home.

Didn't stay in too long but had a good walk around the castle grounds this afternoon to round off the days exercise.
61. Walk and another 30 mins of Yoga with Kassandra.
Been a shit week for me, physically and mentally. No idea why but Monday just went rubbish. Was feeling really good after stuff I'd done last week, but then Monday everything just dropped off a cliff. Really sick of the bloody weather, I just want to not be wet!
Still got out for walks but nothing major until yesterday and didn't Strava anything. Thursday and today have been big walks because I was walking river banks inspecting flood defences for work. Then walked the dog when I got home as well. 25000 steps over rough boggy ground is bloody tiring!
Hopefully doing park run will kick me back into it tomorrow. 🤞
62. An evening walk in the darkness by the river for an hour with the dog. Despite the mizzle it was nice to have the solitude. I saw nobody.
Day 63. Club gravel ride. Started off wet and got wetter. Tracks were minging. A high level of stoicism was deployed but I took an executive decision (I was leading the ride) to cut out one of the hillier off-road sections - including a river crossing - and jump onto the road for a while. Inevitably, just before we hit Aviemore the skies cleared and a warm sun put in an appearance 😂
Still, 45km and 500m of climbing done.

Thursday had to fall back on a lunchtime walk
two days of lumberjack action today and yesterday, big tree cane down on Tuesday and have been lopping it up, about 2m3 of firewood so far and about two tonnes of brashings to figure out what to do with. Knackered.
Swimming this morning. 1600m again, 3 minutes faster this week!
I'm still in! Day 60odd can't quite believe that. An hour on the Zwift machine today. Weather was dreich so no go for outdoor cycling.
A habit has definitely been formed, if only I could stay off the beers and bread sticks and Houmous I'd be laughing.
It’s been a few days since I last reported in, Most days I have been out on the bike. Friday, my legs felt like lead so had a recovery day with a long dog walk. Yesterday was back out on the bike and this morning did an hour of weights.
I seem to be in a zone at present where I don’t really think about it, just have to choose what ever I feel like each day then find the window of opportunity. It’s definitely become more habit than chore.
Day 66 then.
Some more snow forecast so I took off up a local Munro before it arrives.
I guess this should really be in the "incessant snow" thread.

More of a hard frost along the summit ridge.

Big icy puddles to avoid.

Big drop to Loch Eanaich

Just a trace of pink as the sun drops
I'd stupidly forgotten my torch and had to abandon a second summit I wanted to visit.
66. Short walk and then 45 mins doing the same program as last week on an indoor techno bike at the gym. I took it up a level but it was still a bit tame.
D66. Just a 4km run/walk, mostly jogging honest but it's late.
no idea what day we are on. it is all becoming a chore now.
walked 3 mile this morning....... forgot to turn strava on.
walked 3 mile this afternoon....... strava on but dark cloud over my head did not lift.
Happy 70th-Day @scotroutes 😉
(Oh. Birthday. My bad.) happy birthday too 🎂
Happy birthday @scotroutes
(will catch up on my 100 day update tomorrow.)
69. (Or possibly not).
Not much other than a quick walk at lunchtime and 30 plus minutes of yoga with Breathe and Flow. Definitely a more testing workout.
Happy birthday @scotroutes
No Parkrun today (230 @olddonald?? that's impressive. Think I'm on 7 😂), nor any bike rides thus week. I've managed to keep going since last week's Parkrun, just, with walks thanks to a horrendous chest infection and the associated asthma issues 😢 Really hope the steroids start working soon, though I best not enter any races just in case of doping irregularities 😂😂😂
This week I have cycled for at least an hour each evening, last night was a two hour dog walk with some friends which ended in the pub.
The plan was to ride first thing but it was too cold (it wasn’t really) but I chickened out. Made up for it this afternoon though with a very muddy local ride where I got stuck and ended up trying to ride across a field of sugar beet! It would have been difficult on the fatty, near on impossible on a gravel bike. All good fun!
It’s great to read what you’ve all been up to, I definitely need some mountains.😀
I missed another day on the 16th, due to motivation if I'm honest. Despite this and a niggly knee, I've kept at it since. In addition to the specified exercise, whenever the sun has shone I've gone out to try and make the most of it during the short days. Also keeping up with stretching and upper body improvements. I'm going to post here every day this coming week to try and help with the motivation.
25km XC ride this morning, decided not to do park run as I hadn't been on the bike for a few weeks and wanted to take advantage of the sun. Had to ride through a flooded causeway between two lakes though so my feet were bloody freezing!
The whole of the last 5 days have been Fails for me, dealing with family stuff has just left me completely exhausted and unable to do anything whatsoever. Managed a Zwift Robo Rider spin for 30 mins this evening though so now just focussing on beating my PB of 74/100, should be easily achievable as that's just 2/3 days for the rest of the challenge.
Day 71 (Sat 25th)
Met piemonster for a chat/food/beers then a walk in to a wee bivvy spot near Loch Morlich.
The moon was so bright we hardly needed the headtorches.

Very calm at the bivvy spot and the moon was lighting everything up

I was on the lookout for the reported aurora but couldn't see any colour in the sky at all.

Day 72 (Sun 26th)
Obviously had to walk back out from our bivvy spot 🙂
It had been chilly overnight - anouh for some ground frost and a thin layer on parts of the tent.

Fine morning at Loch Morlich. Frost on the beach but no ice yet.

Somewhere I’ve lost track of what day# is what date. Apart from one day missed, I’ve done something every other day, but clearly can’t write it down correctly.
Day 67 - turbo session 30.31 km in 56 minutes at 185w. Walked round the Thames at lunchtime 4.43 km in 46 mins and walked home later.
Day 68 - swim 2.6 km in 54 minutes and walked wombat later 2.3 km in 32 minutes
Day 69 - 2 Mike swim in 68 minutes, slow but done. Wombat and I went for a walk later 2.4 km in 36 minutes
Day 70 - 3 km swim in 62 minutes
Day 71 - eMtb ride 32.4 km in 2 hours, brilliant technical ride, great feeling to be outdoors again and I was layered up for the.conditions (but maybe not), temp was -1 to 0 and I’ve ridden loads in colder temps. But after this I fell really unwell, bloody cold and exhausted really quickly. Slept for 18 hours dressed in arctic survival clothing with a hat. Have I just been super unlucky with some random bug and the cold or is this mild hypothermia? Either way total pita.
Day 72 - will be a very slow walk with wombat.
