Auto electrician help required!

As above the dash in my 1 series (F21 M135i) is completely out. No revs / speedo, lights or anything, black panel display on cluster. Radio, main display in centre all working.

I've tried disconnecting the battery and have checked the battery fuses, any ideas? I'm thinking bad earth, or cable to dash?

Did you have a slight rattle before hand? I only ask because mine is rattling like a bastard at the moment and it's getting worse...

not in this list :

So maybe not a common failure - I suspect a BMW specific forum might help.

Be careful with batteries in BMW`s they have to be told about any changes.

The minimum you're going to need to get any help are the diagnostic trouble codes. Either pay someone to read them or buy yourself a bluetooth dongle from eBay/Amazon and whatever Smartphone app is recommended for BMW's and start there.

Try www.babybmw.net. There are a few threads with similar issues, such as SatNav enabled and going past an Airport and dash turns off.. I think there is a software update for that.

The first things I would check would be the fuse boxe(s).

I have checked the forums but can't see any threads that match my issues, although there are similar.

Really andyg1966? How do you suggest going about that? Did you ask for goodwill?

Yup, google BMW swirlflap problems ...
Mate had an entire engine changed out of warranty free of charge, I think they were changing quite a few engines.

Personally I had a failed turbo + knock on intercooler damage at 3.5 years and 26000 miles. They paid parts and I paid discounted (warranty rate) labour. New turbo for £600.
