Thanks!
Go to the spa for a nice chillout.
if you go to the Spa have look at the 2 for 1 offers on the first great western site
- The Roman Baths/Abbey are the main tourist attractions in the centre of town. The baths are pretty impressive
- The spa is nice but is going to eat into your time if you've only got one day there
- Royal Cresent/The Circus area for the classic architecture
- Pulteney Bridge/Street and the weir
- Possibly the open top bus tour to get more of a view of the city itself, but you can wander aroudn the town enough to get a feel for the main stuff without doing this.
If you like coffee then a nip to Colonna and Small's is a definite. Just off Queen Square.
Not been for well over twenty years but highlights I remember were an evening in 'Bog Island' club and having a Schwartz burger. The RPS had some good exhibitions too.
Spa is good. I got engaged there 🙂
Thanks so far
We've got our (12yr old) daughter with us so Spa may be out - she can't sit still for 5 seconds, so relaxing isn't an option!

The RPS is no longer there, neither is the club at Bog Island, or at least, as far as I know, but Schwartz Burgers are still in Walcott Street, as is The Bell.
The new Southgate development is worth a quick wander round for a bit of retail therapy, Avon Valley Cyclery has a new shop under Bath Spa station, which has all been opened up and developed, and a wander up to The Circus and the Royal Crescent are always worth doing, the costume museum in the Assembly Rooms might appeal to the ladies.
It's dead easy to kill an entire day in Bath, it's a relatively small city, and quite easy to cover much of it in a day.

There used to be a cadburys shop in town she might like if you end up shopping and need to distract her and the ice cream shop on the corner of York Street near the Abbey is good. Is 12 too old to play on swings etc (I have no idea about kids) as there is Victoria Park on the edge of town that has a massive kids area (google Argos to find the kids bit but the park itself is huge).
there is also Sally Lunns for lunch she might enjoy and for you there is a Bath Ales pub (Graze) at the station and Waitrose in town has a good selection of Bath Ales for you to take home with you 😀
Lunch at the little cafe under the arch overlooking the weir. Access down the steps at the city centre end of Pulteney Bridge. Walcott Street for retail browsing. Couple of nice book shops, Toppings and a smaller one at the back of Jollys dept store. Crazy golf at Victoria Park. Bike shops: AVC, Johns Bikes and Total Fitness at Walcott St, and Cadence, though a bit out of town on A4. Roman Baths very good, and if they still do it, afternoon tea at the Pump Rooms while a string quartet plays.
Take the 18 or U18 bus up to the university and see a minature model of Cumbernauld.
On second thoughts...
