What penis head thought that having 0.75l bottles was a good idea?

Why so small?

Why not bigger?

Total ballauex

I'd recommend going for magnums or jeroboams if you're a thirsty type.

Because seemingly wine goes off, if you don't sink two bottles to yourself and then hit the Internet complaining about it.

two sensible glasses for a table of 4

any smaller becomes uneconomical, bigger means it doesn't get drunk and goes off. Also transport, the bigger bottles adds corresponding weight because glass is heavy.

side note: There are only about 3 (relatively small specialist) companies that can make champagne in a bottle bigger than a magnum because of the kit required and there are specific techniques, so if you are debating a methuselah etc of some big label champagne, it's not worth the bother, it will be someone else's production behind the label.

Ah yes, that popular wine serving of 93.75ml. I blame the EU.

I presume you meant three? 125 x 6 = 750.

The trouble is that non metric quantity of 4 participants.
Now if there were 5 at the table it would make more sense.

As an afterthought what is the chance of getting 4 people to want the same wine?

75cl is a great size as it fits fine into a standard bottle cage.

Bottles? Glasses? Pfft!

I buy it by the box, put a hole in the top of it then sit in front of the telly in my pants, slurping it through one of those big curly straws, while chewing on a big block of vintage cheddar like it was a big cheesy Mars bar

Cuts down on your recycling too, so its a win/win

Eh?

Is this due to that well known phenomenon that bigger objects have a much higher surface area to volume ratio?

🙄
