Well, the first two are ugly or cheating, so the Yeti wins surely?

Of those three. The Atherton bikes IRL are really amazing to look at, would definitely like to have a go on one, the AM flow thing looks super interesting as well, so yes, that as well, and who doesn't love a lightweight Yeti?

So, that's narrowed it down a bit...

If anyone has one of those metal Athertons, in my size (whatever that is... so much choice) and consider it too ugly for them to ride in public... please send my way... in the flesh they look NASA level smart to me... would love to try one.

Where’s the Bossnut? It’s desirable to me whereas those three don’t tickle my fancy at all!

Yes! Saw some at Bespoked Manchester. Tested one at Dyfi. Expecting one 1Q2025!

Weirdly, it was seeing them at Bespoked that put me off the Athertons. That being said, my eye was being drawn elsewhere… the result of which will also arrive in Q1 2025 🙂

Does desirable mean something you can’t afford ?

I wouldn’t say any of them are desirable

Something that is desirable is worth having or doing because it is useful, necessary, or popular.

According to Colin

What did everyone nominate? Mine was the Dawley T16

I think the Atherton bike looks amazing. Innovative tech and material use. Plus, Made in Wales. Easy pic.

Fancy new motor wrapped in an average catalogue frame. Mmmmm, desirable...

I choose none of the above. They look quite dull to me.

Not sure if it's me, but I am logged on here as a member, but now it seems that when you vote, or enter the megasack or whatever I have to log in again with an email. What's all this about then?

Christ, you lot must be roadies! I'd love any of those 3.

I do object to "As ever from Yeti" re the price of it.. Yeti didn't used to be mind-blowingly expensive.. I mean I've actually owned 3 Yetis, up til about 10 years ago..

Most desirable mountain bike, the Tumbleweed Sunliner would get my vote!

Thought they'd be more choice than just 3. Also thought ebikes might be it's own category

God, they are really mediocre. What about an elegant single speed, a nice gravel bike with all the cables on the outside?

These three look destined for land fill, they have no second life when the next big thing happens and they are no longer trendy.

Where's the "none of those" voting button?

Athertons are cool, but if it's pure fantasy, why not go the full A Series?

Personally though, I echo the above comments - either a Starling or Dawley T16 would interest me the most right now. Wouldn't say no to a large budget Pipedream Sirius S6 Ti build either.

As always, the list here never satisifes everyone - that's impossible but do consider sending us a nomination for a bike you really lust after next year and you might see your choice up there.

None of them. I wouldnt spend my money on any of them. Perhaps the powers that be would like to explain how the shortlist ended up as those 3 out of all the new bikes launched this year. That’s glossing over the fact that one of them isn’t a bike is an ebike

Desirable by committee is never going to end up with a particularly nice or unique bike... It'll be "The Homer" of the bike world.

Having said that, all three bikes have had a lot of media attention & hype this year, arguably the Yeti has had the least amount of those three but could be the most desirable brand.

I voted for the AM Flow, purely because of the three, it's the one I'd actually buy (but the 6k variant rather than the 9k).

Athertons are cool, but if it’s pure fantasy, why not go the full A Series?

Because the A series wasn't released this year, and has been included in previous years voting I think.

Yep, sorry not sorry for ragging on a list that mixes up bikes and e-bikes.

Mmm. If there's only two bikes then surely it should be "More Desirable Mountain Bike...."

Still, makes the ebike category easy to call...

It's OK to acknowledge that it's been a shit year for new bikes though.

Are brands still sitting on new bike launches (e.g. Spesh Enduro) or are we seeing the result of the development pause that many brands implemented during and post COVID?

I did post an amusing "most predictable responses to an awards category" category post, but it got lost in errors from this end (for a change).

@monkeyboyjc - fair, I missed what was right in front of my eyes.

In that case I'm doubling down on a Starling Mini-Murmur and/or Dawley T16. Really confused why STW couldn't make a shortlist of say, ten new bikes from this year?

The Yeti "isn't exactly budget minded" and an Atherton is what then?
