Lots of big names on the list which is great, including Super Bruni Tazzy! Looking forward to the Tazzy event, some top draw racing so early in the year is great.

Would like to have seen Brage on the list. Maybe he'll be on the Wales wildcard list when announced

JOSH BRYCELAND!!!!!!!!!

Surely that’s the big news?

He made a dramatic return to it this year, but the race was cancelled due to weather.

Strong agree. And Brendan.

Good to see some freeriders in there, would be ace if Rheeder and Semenuk could be roped in too.

What is hardline? It used to be a race but the introduction of so many  freeriders makes it what - Just a spectacle? Would a speed and style format work?

Well it's timed top to bottom, so it's still a race. But to put it simply.. It's Hardline... That's it, it's an entity in it's own right, it's whatever it decides it wants to be, mostly it's a jolly/test/training week with a timed run at the end. Does it have to be anything more ?
We get to see people doing completely bonkers things, having fun and lobbing themselves down a mountain... I'm happy it's there.

But it's not a WCDH, or an Enduro, or a Slopestyle... it's just... Hardline.

It's still a race. Ask Bernard if you're not sure.

But it's also a big marketing opportunity.

And it;s fun to see how the freeriders stackup against the racers.

Shame no Thibault Laly, he looked really strong in the Pinkbike/Sleeper doc about this year's cancelled one.

Really good to see a decent women's lineup too. Looking forward to seeing the course.

The risk/reward economics are interesting, it's one of the biggest events on the calendar for marketing and exposure - with DH teams and budgets shrinking, I guess some are thinking beyond UCI points.

I'd expect there to be wild card entries for the Welsh edition too, they just haven't been announced yet.

Sounds like the Pinkbike Racing team is no more so I guess he needs to find a ride for next year - hope he and the rest of the team do!

Women in a professional sports arena? Joey Barton won't like it.

Really looking forward to this, such an incredible varied line up! I can't help but be in awe of these riders in downhillslopestylehardline etc, love the madness of not just riding these lines, but racing them, just insane!

A real shame that this year's didn't happen so hopefully weather plays nice; that and hope Brage turns up and tonks it 🙂

Still looks like a marketing event rather than a race given most of the top 20 still aren’t interested in it.

I’d happily watch it if just Jackson Goldstone and/or BK were riding it on their own … especially as I won’t have to pay.

Will be nice to watch some live mtb for a change too.

It's about time women were included in this kind of event. They've been chucking themselves off cliffs with reckless abandon for quite a while now. Looking forward to it.

Wot no Brendog ? I don't think I've ever seen Ed Masters hitting the really big stuff before, interesting inclusion.

How do you know ?

if as was said before this years that all the top riders are invited then it’s reasonable to assume that those not on the list said no thanks.

whether that is a personal or a sponsor decision is a different question.

The fact that not all the top WC racers fancy it gives it more prestige, in some people's eyes.

You're wrong to pick that to try to belittle it anyway.

I’m not. The marketing people as saying this is all the best riders in the world which clearly isn’t true. It takes away from the event as it points to the marketing being more important than the event

There's no Pidcock either. Current olympic and world champ not getting a look in 😉

Its such a different beast compared to WC downhill. Not better or worse, safer or more dangerous; just different. Someone might be good at both, but there is no guarantee that they will be.

Good to see Bryceland, who quit WC racing due to claimed environmental concerns around travel, and was vocally against energy drink sponsorship with his #drinkwater campaign; is flying to literally the opposite side of the world to compete in a red bull event.

Doesn't he have a (canal) boat? Maybe he's going to sail (drive?) there!?
