About Benji's Max Protection mudguard: "NOTE: MAX PROTECTION NOT SUITABLE FOR AGGRESSIVE / DH RIDING" and this is because they've been known to fall apart

The Fox googles may be good, but they are a 'strong' look....

The Fox googles may be good, but they are a ‘strong’ look….

They're actually the item I'm mostly likely to buy (when they're 70% off).

Good to see the WTB Verdict getting a well-deserved shout out - my favourite tyre by some distance.

Praise be for SRAM DB8 brakes

Dammit, the secret is out!

That funny helmet Chipps is wearing is a bit pricy innit

That Vittoria tyre plier thing is absolutely brilliant. The WTC Scraper rims on my hardtail specialise in welding themselves to tyre beads. Normally some judiciously-applied bodyweight - basically standing on the tyre carefully until the seal pops - does the job, but a 2.8 Rekon had very different ideas. I spent about a month fighting with the thing and failed miserably every time. The Vittoria tool broke the seal in minutes.

It's not something that's generally an issue for me, tyres, but if you do find yourself engaged in a life-and-death struggle with a recalcitrant tyre/rim combo, it's the absolute badger, the thermo-nuclear explosion of tyre removal.

I was set to swap out the DB8s that came on my Vitus (so many bad SRAM experiences in the past) but glad I left them on, some better pads and a proper bleed and they've been amazing. And that's on a heavy ebike with a heavier rider.

Have DB8s on my Ragley and apart from Somme annoying brake rub, they have been brilliant for trail duties!
