I dunno, it’s a global world out there. And Singletrack gets lots of traffic/readers beyond Yorkshire.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Europe leads the way in terms of how many people cycle, with the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany and Sweden having the highest numbers of people on bikes.

But what about the 14 billion bicycles in Beijing or what ever the number is....

Anyone care to summarise that copied and pasted word document?

It's a fact,
It's a thing we can't deny
Like insurance is a thing some people buy

Enjoyed it then? In summary, bicycle insurance isn't for everyone. Especially Velosurance if you're not in the US, but they did offer some great insights into things people might not know about specialist insurance for your pride and joy.

Insure what you legally have to and what you can't afford to replace. As I've never bought a bike that I couldn't replace I've never insured them. I bought my first mountain bike in 1986 and I think I currently have 5 bikes. I hate to think what 37 years worth of insurance would have cost but I expect its at least one of those 5 bikes ☺️

@avdave2. That’s my approach. I underwrite myself for most things. I think if you mitigate risk by having a disposable old clunker for locking up in town. Saving your proper mountain bike for mountain biking, and never leaving it unattended, and securing it well at home… then you are really unlikely to get it stolen. That just leaves third party liability to sort out.

He's right you know. I mean, I'm in Cheshire for a start, and I know of at least one reader in *shudders* Derbyshire

Who are with with TJ?

I'm with Esure home insurance and get good cover with bikes (£30ks worth) as well but up for renewal and weary about moving away from what I see as pretty comprehensive cover
