Battling the belly through dark winter with some turbo sessions and ZWIFT but trying to work out how to use a heart rate monitor into the IPAD as think that it's already busy taking the data from the TACX smart turbo ? Do I need to get an Ant + HRM with an adaptor into the lightening port of the ipad air or is there another way such as using a phone as a bridge to take the HRM bluetooth signal ?
thanks for the help been looking online but struggling !
You need a bluetooth heart rate monitor. I use zwift with a smart trainer, cadence sensor and hrm and it works fine (admittedly my hrm is rubbish but it does work). All you have to remember is that you dont pair the hrm with the ipad itself but just on zwift, that caught me out.
As said above, Bluetooth,I got one from Amazon for £18, nice strap. Probably should have paid a little more and got one that was both Bluetooth and ant+ for when my garmin one is lost. Just click the pair box on zwift
Recently bought a https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cardio-Bluetooth-Wireless-Monitor-Android-Black/dp/B01M8QD9Z4/ref=sr_1_1 dual ANT=/Bluetooth HRM, happy with it so far using ANT+
Used with a ~£10 ANT+ dongle and USB3 extension cable totalling ~£16, also from Amazon, to use ANT+ for all my indoor training gear on pc.
