@Nick - I don't know how it works on the ipad but I started getting power drop outs on my laptop (which is pretty high spec so was running on full res) after a certain update. I would get 10 mins or so into a workout and power would dropout. I dropped the graphics settings down a notch and it cured it.

My laptop fan would be screaming at the end of a workout so I think there was some power management stuff going on that was causing the Ant+ to drop.

May not be relevant for ipads??

I think some people were seeing different things, I only saw people riding the retro bikes in retro kit but seemingly some people were seeing the normal bikes and kit?

Cheers for that, same as some others I had issues holding onto a group but managed to stick with a decent pace until the end

Well that ride just about broke me.

Couldn’t stay with front group so dropped back after about 15mins

Hills just absolutely cripple me, my turbo pretty much locks up on anything over 5% and I’m out of the saddle just to turn the cranks

Then went round at a much more acceptable pace 😀

Phew, was just about hanging in there when the "Battery Low" banner want across the screen. Damn, charger lead had fallen out of the transformer.
Got it plugged in and thanks to Zilog and Scaredy made in back in, then on the next hill I felt pain in my left calf, so eased off and cruised around cursing.
Been having this issue for a while, is ok mostly but if I really push it comes on, feels like either cramp or the muscle pulling. After the first time I rested for a couple of weeks and thought that was it but it re-occurs from time to time.

Thanks to Weeksy for organising and to others for the help, see you on the next one.

Well I think I've got my trainer working sensibly again. Power was reading waaaay under for a bit to the point I could barely get the pedals turning over.

What pace/wattage are the group rides running at?

I averaged 266w for the hour and was 5 minutes off the front group pace so tonight's was pretty hard work!

I think the hill just blew it apart and then it was game on, the flatter ride was less spicy until we were unleashed by Weeksy.

Still reading these with interest. They seem to currently be happening every other night and they coincide with it being my night to put the kids to bed, will try and blag an invite when I've available.
Having said that, looking at some of the wattage people say they are putting out I'll be dropped after 30 seconds anyway!

@eskay iPad was fine once I turned the turbo offandonagain, iPad seemed to have forgotten it completely, had to re-pair, it was much busier in Watopia than what it looked like in NYC on the meet up and it was trouble free for 90 minutes, so I think it was just a glitch, hopefully a one off

Yeah it was a decent pace last night, the first I did was a bit easier going 🙂
203W average last night.

Well i've set the next ride for Sat morning 10:30am on the VERY flat desert route. Should help massively in keeping the group together, but with the potential downside of an increase in traffic. Last nights was weird in traffic as the App only lets you join certain layouts, saying you can only join what's open that day, but i think it may be broken as NY wasn't open as such, so was absolutely empty.
I expect Watopia on Sat to be busier.

The ride on Sat is 90 mins... No-one gets left unless they tell us they're done 🙂 If you try, we'll try and keep you with us.

Weeksy, I couldn’t join last night, I met up with you during the warm up but think I fat fingered the invite. I did a race just before it and then couldn’t find the invite to join. Will be there Sat.
Anyone having problems with zwiftpower? My race is only listed as an activity not a race.

Zwift power is struggling due to the number of ToW rides on the makeup days. They are now prioritising independent events for processing, any ToW races are taking up to 24 hours to have results published on ZP.

Ok I have created a meet-up. Greater London flat at 14.00. I have invited about 17 who follow me. If anyone else wants a invite follow me on Zwift as I can’t invite you otherwise. Robbo1234biking [STW] is my username.

I'm working unforunately, so no can do. I just had a look at the invite though & took it to be a run.
Have I misunderstood it, or has it been set-up as a run, rather than a ride?

It initially said robbo has invited you to a run, and the little symbol shows a runner, rather than a bike. But, I am not sure I have ever paid enough attention to know what it would normally show.

Doubt I'll get away with a 10.30 start on Saturday but hopefully catch you for a flat route next time and I can try keeping in the group better.

2pm got calls all day sadly.

Saturday I’ll be on.

I really look forward to these.

Me too. I'm finding I'm able to hold a much higher speed for longer periods riding with the group, so it's definitely helping me.

Cheers @Robbo1234biking
Clearly 2pm ain't the most popular time for a ride! 🙂
35.32km
Power avg 195W max 937W
Calories:670
Earnt myself a slice of cake I reckon.

I averaged 198w and 983w max so pretty close figures. Cheers for the ride. That course is pretty difficult to maintain a consistent pace as it is up and down so your power varies from 100w to 300w! Kudos to weeksy for maintaining a decent pace on the other rides.

Not that popular but I was going to do a ride anyway. All these people actually working!

Technical question: I have a PC laptop with Android OS on it (X86) but Zwift won't work (Google Play says it isn't compatible). Does anyone know of a workaround?

I was going to do the ride at 2pm today but had to work!!!! ****ing hell, whats work? I even have to go to school in the Easter holiday apparently. Just tried out Road Grand Tours...got to say I prefer it. Less hectic, less gamey without tron bikes etc. Nice little scrolling line showing w/kg changes and it doesnt take 240 000mins to load up on my laptop!

The only real issue I had with RGT was the lack of routes. There's a few real climbs but not much in the way of rolling terrain. I think the zwift, watopia approach is better where you can set off on a loop and navigate on the fly if you fancy a climb etc.

Only 17 signed up for tomorrow which considering none of us are going anywhere at the weekend does slightly surprise me. But will be a decent ride and distance i think.

I'm also waiting to see how I feel tomorrow, might go for an outside ride instead. Although a Zwift in the morning and an outdoor one in the afternoon might work.

I'm thinking the usual format, 175w for 30, then 200 or so for next 30, 225-250 for 60-75 mins, then unleash.

All depends how a rider hides and drafts of course.

Don't forget, you can lower that figure if sitting in the group, if there's a decent group that forms of course

Going to give zwift a go next week I think.

I did the stelvio on RGT this morning, trying to keep up with a couple of guys off the Facebook group and it was the hardest thing I’ve done on my bike in years

Too me about 1hr20 for the climb, on 100% slope. My knees are still feeling it now nearly 12 hours later.

Out door ride for me tomoz; my Boris recommended one-a-day.

As for meetups next week; I am on 8-8 hours Mon/Wed/Fri until this corvid situation ends. So only Tuesday and Thursday evenings available for Zwift.

I'm game for that, but not sure how I'll cope. I will have to stay in the group because I did a hard hour (just under) yesterday and only averaged 184w, I think.

Cheers gents... If the pace is too hit, please hit M and type a message and we'll ease off a bit. Speak up and we'll help you out both with a tow back in and also with the overall pace.

It ain't a race, it ain't a training event, it's a bunch of zwift mates riding together 🙂

Cheers for the invite Steve.
I like to think my stamina is pretty good but that goes out the window when I’m at threshold and some of you guys aren’t even in tempo. So I know it ain’t a race but I’ll no doubt end up at the back at some point and will be happy to bail when the time is right.
For any other slower riders my ftp is only about 210.

Trust mate mate, there's plenty of faster guys in STW than me, so any pain you have, I'll be having a bit later. It's not about who's the best, the fastest, strongest. It's about meeting up and talking rubbish with familiar names about.

Until the final 15 mins anyways.

Hey chaps...
Prob not going to be able to make this one...
Kids are fighting like cat and dog, so can’t really sit on a turbo for 90 min whilst they kill each other!
GOing to go for a scoot on the seafront with them.. Have fun, I’ll prob be on Zwift for a ride later today/eve...

Yeah, my HR was about 30 above everyone elses. As expected I struggled with that, combination of not being fit enough, still figuring out zwift and the link to the tv stopping working so having to try and watch everything on a phone screen without my glasses! Still, had fun, found Scaredy for the last 10 minutes or so and feel like I've earned my hot cross bun

We did some volcano racing!!

Race 1 Nath won with 5min 30.
Race 2 I won with a 5min 50 lol.

Race 1 was bonkers with Nath at 4.5 all the way and me killing myself to pull him back and screaming for help

Sorry about the update lads. Stupid windows. It was a policy enforced one so I can't delay it.

I didn't get moved over to the volcano - "join" button pooped up so it pressed it and .. nothing

me and swdan rode round at about 400-450W for a while, then had to stop - kept spilling my cup of tea
