Has anyone used the ztto dropper post? it is around half the price of the brand-x one but given that how good some of their other products are, is it worth a punt

If you have found a seller that can supply this post in the UK with a proper warranty, then go for it. I do also agree, some of their other products are particularly good, specifically Ceramic BB's etc.
If you are buying the item from Aliexpress or other such outlet, remember you will more than likely also incur inport duty and vat costs. Also, if the product fails, who will you turn to as it will be a pretty slow process getting the item back to the Far East for a warranty swap out.
As far as droppers are concerned I've have RS, KS, Fox and BrandX. The most reliable posts by far strangely are the BrandX! So much so that every bike that I own has one. The oldest one that I have is a 4 year old 150mm internally routed post that I haven't even as much as serviced. In the event that something does go wrong, ChainWiggles warranty team are pretty efficient!

I’m also interested to hear any feedback on these posts if anyone has used one...

If you buy direct from China via Ali express they can be had for under £60 including the lever and postage!
At that price I’m happy without a warranty to be honest.
Also I’ve found that if you opt for the slower surface mail options from China you never get stung for customs - I have done it a lot with 100% success rate.

I'm not sure they actually make anything anymore.
It seems to be a collection of variously acquired or partnered components, some good and some bad?

e.g. the cassettes seem to get bad reviews .. dropper levers are excellent... but does that mean the dropper and dropper lever are the same quality???

Is it worth the risk when brand x droppers are so cheap and reliable and have a UK back up warranty process?

I've got 2 of the 11 speed 46-11 cassettes secondhand new from a guy near me. Seem to perform as good as any other. It shifts better than the XTR that I had with a Oneup 45 tooth expander and 16 tooth in middle of cassette. Not sure about wear yet but i've put about 300 miles on one of the cassettes and it still shifts well.
