Anyone tell me how tough the ZTR arch rim is over the Flow rim ?
Looking for a 29er wheel build and wondered at 16stone kitted up, if the Arch will take the weight and associated abuse.

Most riding is South Downs XC, some trail centres and the wheel may end up on a full rigid singlespeed.

Any advice ?
Thanks

Flow is a bigger (wider and deeper-stronger) version of the Arch.
I've been running Arches for 2 years+ and bar cracking one in half at the dyfi doing the gap jump on wc course (and it still held together for anothr 30km) they hav'nt missed a beat, and I'm 90kg and I don't pansy about!
P.s 5.30 am on a sunday 😯

Got one on the back of mine, been great, went slightly out of true, but had it tweaked and been fine since. Good choice

I'm about 100kg kitted up and have Arch on goldtec hubs with brass nipples and double butted spokes. They're a very similar profile to Flow but narrower so nice and strong. No problems with mine yet and I ride rocky trails around the Peaks and Lee quarry and am not yet proficient at drop offs and small jumps but am practicing so not particularly smooth.

i had arches, and have flows and crests. for me arches were fine but they offer no benefits over the flows except about 40 gram/rim lighter. flows are definitely stronger and worth the (not noticable) weight penalty.

55g difference which although not that much is still significant if you're trying to keep weight down but still want a strong rim. That said, I've not tried flows. I have tried Crests though - I bought a pair for my wife's bike but as she's not doing much at the moment due to an injury I have been trying them. Arch on the rear and Crest on the front seems a good idea though which I might try. Currently my plan is to use the Crests (with Racing Ralph) for more normal stuff and the Arhches for the rest (currently with Nobby Nics) but one of each, Nobby Nic/Crest up front and Racing Ralph/Arch rear might be ideal.

i didn't notice any weight difference between flows and arches. once you are down to the weight of crests it is noticable but not as much as the difference between fast and slow tyres. i had to true my arch rims occasionally and put a small flat spot on the back one. never had to touch the flows. i'm 12 stone.

If you are interested, I have a brand new Stans ZTR 355 29er wheelset that I had handbuilt, Stans 3.30 hubs (both QR), DT SuperComp spokes, alloy nipples etc, yellow rim tape fitted. They cost me £400 and have been ridden 1 mile up the road on my Cyclocross bike.

I've completely changed direction in bike choice and have these for sale for £330 posted.

Hubs are 6-bolt compatible.
