On a ride the rear wheel of my new zesty fell out. It was assumed this was me being a dumb ass so I tightened and double checked. A mate who bought the same bike at the same time (bargain price) had the same event half an hour later.
Probably just a major coincidence but neither of us have had this with the long list of QR15 bikes over 10 years of riding and then both had the same problem.
Anyone had this issue?
Not here but I did have the rear wheel fall out on Trek Fuel Ex once (not the ABP version).
I do sometimes struggle to get the QR nut past the carbon mech guard when removing or replacing the wheel though.
I had this happen on my SC Nomad C more than once - I have to do it up mega tight to make sure it doesn't happen.
Had it a few times on a QR dune with a 10mm axle.
Unfortunately it was during descents at the mega so a touch worrying to find a rear wheel loose enough to fall out.
Interestingly, it also happens when done up super tight and a zip tie over the lever to keep it closed.
