Anyone put a 160mm fork on, and how'd it work out?

Has it got a non-standard shock fitting at the rear? Wondering if offset bushings still work on it.

Thanks 🙂

My spesty (half spicy half zesty) is a 2013 with a 150mm fork and a spicy shock shuttle with a DBair shock. No angleset but 2013 is a degree slacker than 2012. Works well I find 🙂

Righto, that's 160mm rear travel then?

I saw the 2013 is 66.5deg HA as standard, which is appealing. They're a bit more pricey though.

Yup 160 at the back with the spicy shuttle link and spicy length shock
I was "upgraded" to the 13my frame as my 2012 suffered the normal cracking around the swing arm

Carbon model?

It's not normal for the alu ones to crack is it?

Yup 714 carbon frame set , pretty sure they all will be cracked already!
Not heard any issues with the ally ones

I just logged in to start a similar post as I am about to do the same thing with my as yet uncracked 2012 714, but was not planning to change the travel at the rear.
Max torque: Why did you go 160 at the rear but stick with the 150 32's?

The 150 RLCs were a left over from another build and it was really just the adjustable low speed compression damping that I wanted. I'm light on the bike so the 32s are stuff enough for me. However when considering the cost of the DBair it made sense to grab the extra travel available from the spicy shock shuttle as Ivan still fit the original shuttle and fix shock for more XC duties etc. it seems to work really well and the extra control of the 4way rear shock gives the back end a planted but bottomless feel

Like you said in a previous post, once you upgraded the front - the rear becomes the weak point. I spent quite a lot of Saturday sliding my rubber ring back onto my shaft! 🙄

If I got one I'd mainly be using a 150mm fork, but would keep a 160mm in reserve for special occasions.

I hope it does work out, I have a 160 pike going on mine this week 🙂 I've met a lot of people running 160 forks with a 140 shock with no issues.

Cool, I tried it on my old 2010 Zesty but thought it made the front a bit high.

Looks like it should be good with the new geometry but wanted to ask.
