I’m being as patient as I can, honest. What’s the best method for putting in hose grommets? Specifically an Orange frame.

Currently using a flat blade screwdriver, but having very little luck.

Any good tips?

Nnnooooo not a screw driver! Sooner or later you’ll slip and make a mess of the frame, or just poke it straight through the grommet.

For me it’s GT85, a tyre lever (plastic) and the patience of a Saint

Bit of silicone spray and a length of fishing line if needed, similar to the way that old style car windows are fitted. Google it if you need.

Specifically an Orange frame.

Hahahahahaha.

Been there and still have the trauma.

My best advice is use a light grease to help them in, and accept that some of the grommets/holes are over/undersized in such a way that they're probably never gonna fit in.

How does that work if you can only access one side of the grommet?

Thanks for the support, chaps. Needs to be an official support group set up for this type of nasty job.

I’m slowly realising that I should have probably fitted the grommets while the hose was still kinda free and before fitting the hose to the lever just to give me some wiggle room.

Nice big ports with covers next time please, Orange. 😬

I gave up on my Whyte frame and used Sugru instead. Job done in about 10 mins.
