Has anyone else noticed the major discrepancy in the size charts from YT? They've clearly done the conversion using decimals e.g Size Large starts from 172cm / 5'6" on their chart. 172cm is 5.6ft but more like 5'8"! Not great for a company which sells in the USA.. or am I missing something?
I would imagine it’s something to do with any conversion will change the inches to a decimal. They very easily could have just assumed the decimal meant inches as 172cm converts to 5 feet 7.7 inches. Rounded up you can easily see how they got 8”!
Did you look at the European website for that conversion? Don’t they have a distribution in the states? Maybe they convert it a bit more accurately
bad decimal conversion
172 / 2.54 = 67.7 inches
67.7 / 12 = 5.64 feet (forgetting that 0.64 feet does not equal 6 inches)

You can see why. Its something that really annoys me and i dont know why, mixing decimals and fractions. Offends my OCD and causes no end of problems!
Yeah the difference between 5'6" and 5'8" is not insignificant... must be loads of Americans on the wrong frame size because of it. Very poor attention to detail from YT imo
To be fair, they do say it's also just a guide - you should be looking at the reach, ETT, seat tube etc etc to get the correct size.
True but for novices they may well not look beyond this chart...
