Hi tempted to get a Jeffsy.
I have a giant Reign and had a couple of Anthems and the maestro realy is efficient at stopping pedal bob.
I used to have a Stumpy and the pedal bob on that was quite bad even with the triad shock.
The Jeffsy I'm looking at doesn't have compression dampening so just just wondering if the Yt design is anywhere near as good as maestro for pedaling??

Cheers.

Hey - Not sure what model you are looking at. I have the Pro Race and pedal bob is fairly minimal, particularly on the middle trail setting. A lot less efficient on full bounce but no worse than any other bike I have had.

Hi cheers for reply. It would be th AL2 so it only has the basic monarch r shock. Do you like the bike mate ?

I have the original Jeffsy.

They are great bikes. It makes me smile just to look at it.

Pedal performance? Not the best and most definitely far, far from the worst. That's my real world opinion.Lol

Basically, you won't regret it. After the first ride I doubt you will even remember asking about pedal bob.👍

I have an original CF Pro. I've just been for a ride and set PRs on two steep climbs, beating the times I've set on my carbon hardtail and on my Anthem. Pedal bob is not a problem.

I have a 2018 29er Al Comp and can’t say I’ve noticed any major pedal bob (I have a Trance too, for comparison).

I have a 2019 Jeffsy and it pedals very well.

I haven’t ridden a Giant so can’t compare it to a Reign or Anthem but the 2019 Jeffsy is loads better than my 2017 Capra. Steeper dear angle helps a lot too.

I’m going to suggest that it’s not going to be the climbing you struggle with on the Jeffsy, it’s climbs great albeit I found on my 29er CF1 the seat tube angle was too slack, ruined further by me slackening the bike more. But in fact it’s the descending, you may dislike! Especially going from a plush enduro bike like the reign. It’s not the bikes fault either. The monarch shock that came fitted was pretty horrific, wooden feeling thing that often got out of its depth. I changed mine to a CC Inline coil and it transformed the bike into an absolute machine up and downhill.

Another vote for a CC Inline Coil on the bike. I did the same (on the advice of russyh, I seem to remember) and it transformed it. Mine was a CF Pro with a Fox DPS shock which I never really got on with. Budget for a CC Inline coil (and sell the Monarch to get a bit back) and you'll have a great bike for going upwards and downwards.

Hi lads thanks very much for the replies. It would have been the 2017 version I woukd have been buying. However I have just fitted high rise bars to my Reign and can’t believe how much better it feels to me. I haven’t had it that long and it felt too planted and low at the front however it now feels as nimble as the Anthem I had.
I’m going to keep it now but the Jeffsy will be at the top of my list when I buy again but will save for a newer one.
Thanks again lads 👍🏻👍🏻
