Just wondered if anyone had used an Izzo, or similar for ultra endurance stuff and bikepacking?

Totally fine I know but I have only ridden hardtail for years and just bought an Izzo to replace my tricked up nordest sardinha (will be for sale if anyone’s interested)

I’m interested in setup for this kind of riding
What bag system does anyone use, as frame bag is out, so need everything in saddle and bar bags

Any tyre recommendations, I’m planning on 2.4 rekons front and rear, as really rated the 2.6’s on my nordest.

Just want to get it set up for hassle free multi day hard rides

I've done a couple of bikepacking trips using an Orbea Occam. My main issue is being short of stature and therefore not having much clearance betwixt saddle and wheel for a decent seatpack. I did manage to fit a small Ortlieb pack that even let me use the dropper a little.

A Gorilla Cage fitted where you can mount a bottle can also take a small bag. You're really only restricted by how narrow your pedalling stance is.

A decent handlebar pack can carry a good load, though does then start to affect handling more.

My usual advice is to concentrate on getting lightweight/compact kit and learning how to take less. That way you can even consider using a backpack for the lighter/bulkier items without experiencing any pains etc.

Gorilla cage is a good idea!
I have very lightweight minimal kit already, I’m very minimal with what I take

It’s just going to take some adjustment, as I’m used to having all my day to day stuff in a frame bag

It’s going to be interesting seeing how it feels to ride these kind of rides on a full suss.

I guess I could get a small custom bag made up for the frame
