This is a stunningly daft / simple question: I keep reading that YT bikes are delivered in a EU / US configuration. So does this mean anything other than taking the brake levers off and putting them on the other side???
Depends on whether the levers can be run on the opposite side, if they can swap away, if they can't,you'll need to undo the hoses from the levers and swap them to the preferred side. If you're careful you may get away without having to bleed them. If not, a quick push of fluid from the caliper to the lever should force any unwanted air back into the lever.
I think you can specify when ordering, but I think most of the ones I've looked at are specced with SRAM brakes anyway, so it's just a case of moving the levers from one side to the other.
Cheers both
Ive got a capra on its way to me, you cant specify which way round you want the brakes when you order you just have to swap them over yourself, but with sram the levers can go on either side of the handlebar
I had this with a Ghost I ordered off Chain Reaction. Wasn’t possible to swap the levers over, and the hoses were too short for the front to go to the right hand side.
Just got used to it in the end.
Depends, normally the hoses are long enough you can just flip current Sram levers. If you want it "right" you may have to change the internal cable routing exits and shorten the brake hoses. If the levers have a right way up you will need to swap the hoses over.
Most new bikes come with excessively long brake hoses anyway.
