Has anyone got any experience of these?
I may have just destroyed the BB threads in a frame I'm renovating.
Got the non drive side cup in with no issue, screwed in all the way by hand. Drive side started off going in fine then became tight then stopped so I started winding it out and it stopped again, had to get a long bar on my ratchet to get it out which has made a bit of a mess of it and destroyed the cup pretty much.
It's off at the LBS to see if they can rescue it but if not does anyone have any experience of the above?
YST threadless external BB and are they up to the task for a mountain bike?

The drive side threads on my old Cove Hustler wore out over time. So I put one of these in as a temporary measure. It did a whole winter before one of the bearings started getting graunchy. St John Street cycles sell more expensive threadless BBs which according to reviews offer more protection. If the threads are damaged I would look at retreading as an option. Argos Cycles offer it. Look under thread repairs. Other frame builders may offer similar. Not cheap but it would be a better long term option I think.

Go square taper? Nice cheap threadless BBs for just this purpose and you just bug in new bearings when they pack up.
Even the cheap crap lasts way longer than most external BBs. You won't notice the difference.
