Im visiting the area and will be free after lunch to ride trails.

Where should i go? Nearest place in the south direction would be best.

If you're heading south on the A1, the trails along the Derne Valley in Doncaster are really good.

If not, head west or north. Other than that, there's pretty much bugger all south of York.

Stainburn in a westerly direction or Dalby Forest in an easterly direction - both well within an hour's drive from York.

Dalby for me rather than Stainburn. Dalby will be quick with being frozen, Stainburn will be a icy boulder fest.

If you have zen balancing skills maybe. Was there on Sunday and some sections were unridable due to sheet ice.

What jim said.
Dalby was a sheet ice fest last weekend, judging by our road wont be much better unless it warms a good bit by Fri

Head North up the A19 to Boltby Forest and in the Hambleton Hills
