I'm pondering doing a ride going over Yoke, as I've seen it mentioned on here before, but was wondering if the best way to do this is up, towards Ill Bell and then round to Nan Beild, or go down it. Or are there any other decent loops that include it?

Thanks.

I've done the full ridge both ways, and prefer it going north to south. From Yoke summit, its a fast blast all the way down into Kentmere, picking up the Garburn. Not techy at all though.

Not techy, but is it fun?

like Dave, done it both ways onto Nan Bield.
anti clockwise is best, coming back down towards Garburn.

fun, yes even moreso for a more accomplished rider than myself.

A bit controversial this, but my favourite way down from there (disclaimer: I've only been up Yoke etc and down Nan Bield, and didn't really enjoy it that much) is to head over to Harter Fell then down over Kentmere Pike. Again not tech but it goes on for aaaaaages and makes me grin. Probably not best if it's super wet though.

Did this N to S, slightly underwhelmed, you would expect the ridgeline to be wild and au natural, think again, predominantly a wide machine groomed walkers path, the descents off Frostwick and III Bell liven it up a little.

My money is on Nan Bield still the better descent.

I'd recommend going up it from the Garburn Pass, it's partly groomed and a good challenge to 'clean' on the ascent. I tend to do it this way (Northwards) and contour round the West side of it, then over Ill Bell, then contour again around Froswick on great singletrack.
From there descending to Nan Bield (then South) makes a good techy loop, or descending Kidsty Pike is a bit beefier, or for eye-popping steepness try heading down to Threshwaite Mouth from Thornthwaite Crag. Lots of options! Avoid the Harter Fell to Kentmere Pike ridge while it's wet.

Done it both ways and they are both good - you cannot lose.

or descending Kidsty Pike is a bit beefier

Kidsty is an absolute corker.
