Just bought a second hand one. Reading the Yeti manual online points out grease ports and 40 hour service intervals. So, what gun, grease and any tips, please. TIA

It's pretty straightforward, really. Just make sure the grease ports are clean, then pump through til you see the old stuff come through the seals. Give it a few more pumps then wipe it down.
You tend to find the most amount of wear on the stanchions isn't actually caused by a lack of grease in the link. It tends to be more down to seized bearings or uneven torque on the link, so before you ride the bike just make sure the bearings are all in good shape, and that the link is correctly torqued up. There's a tech manual on Yeti's site which explains it all.

Is there such a thing as a basic, affordable grease gun which takes 400ml refills but has a head the right size to fit in grease ports?
I use the good old Dualco gun with Moly grease - I seem to remember there was an small typo on those Fox instructions and the grease listed wasn't actually the correct (moly) grease - unsure if corrected.
However, be aware that the system inside the switch infinity for getting the grease from the nipple to the internal surfaces ain't the best - a single hole in the bushing which, IMO, doesn't deliver the grease evenly around the internals.
I prefer now to wip the unit off the bike and pop the sliders out and grease them (and bushings) disassembled. Probably overkill, but gives me piece of mind with an expensive part.

Is there anything else I should be aware of ? Bit concerned where some of the internal hoses/cables come out, but a bit of helitape should do the job ?
