Hi all,

I have just bought a new set of wheels which have a 142 x 12 rear hub. I have ordered a 142 chip to swop for my standard QR. Which skewer is everyone using?

🙂

Depends.

Did you go for the Shimano or DT Swiss version?

Pretty sure its the shimano version. It hasn't got a threaded end.

I got the Shimano XTR SM-AX75 Axle with my SB66c.

It seems to work OK. It's definitely threaded at the end, though...

Has shimano axel has a threaded nut on it? The chip itself hasn't got a threaded part.

yes, the nut is secured by the chipset.

I ordered my chipset with my frame. It came with a Shimano one. The nut is compliantly held by a grub screw.
