Has anyone had a problem with the rear carbon triangle creaking on a Yeti ASR. The rear flex points at the bottom of the stays seam to be making the most noise.
Anyone heard of this or know of a cure as the noise only becomes apparent once the bike has warmed up and really bugs me.
Thanks
strangely enough, try taking your gear hanger off and popping a dob of grease on the back plate of it before you put it back on. Cured my mystery Asr creak
Stu
Thanks Kinger, i'll give that a try. Does seam to be coming from the rear end.
Anyone come across this?
not a yeti but rather embarrasing, I stripped my ransom down totally, greased everything but still had a creak... took it to Evans, 10 seconds and 1 properly tightened bolt and the noise had gone!!! the bolt was tight just not the correct torque!
The ASR does tend to creak from the mech hanger - I did the same as Kinger & it stopped.
i'll give that a go thanks.
What do you know, the rear hanger was loose. Striped this down and added some grease. 🙂
Unfortunaly this has not resolved the problem of the rear end creaking.
Anyone got any advise? I'm beginning to loose my enthusiasm for riding an otherwise great bike.
i have an asr the hanger has creaked and the top bolt on the dogbone has creaked oh yes and i allso broke 2 swingarms 😯
if is one of the full carbon ones you need to check the inside of the chainstays about where the tyre is it starts with lots of very fine cracks.
the other one was a carbon chainstay with ally seatstays.on that one the alloy bearing housing pulled out of the chainstay on the driveside.
i bet it is your hanger though.
i still love it though.
Does anyone know if yeti make a Ali rear triangle for the ASR? I know they do for the 575.
I'm just thinking along the lines of if the rear triangle has died.

they do but evolution imports dont carry them in stock so its a long wait if you want one.
there is a new stronger carb one coming out for 2010 though.
allso if you know you cant get a warranty on it they do them crash replacement for a very reasonable price.
