Poor year for riding, too much going on-

1240 miles, 124 hrs, 139,694 feet.

Not a bad bit of elevation given the distance.

Edit: 112.6 feet per mile.

(calendar yr 2015 is all that strava offers me, but close enough)

A lot, for me, though this year lots of road 😳 and a recent 8wk break due to injured hand and then surgery

(my phone has learned how to keep count pretty much all by itself - it still seems happy) 🙂

Aimed to do 50 miles a week on the mtb, so a total of 2600 miles by the end of the year.

2451.9 miles thus far so still time.

253 747ft

128 rides

Stats don't really tell the story, been a great year with some amazing trips, events and rides.

Off out now for a 20 mile mud slog.... still loving every moment I spend on a bike.

1216 miles. Mostly commuting, although I kind of lost my commuting mojo after a spate of really crap drivers trying to kill me.

I think I've ridden my MTB 11 times this year. I love it, but there's nothing to ride locally*, so every ride involves an hour of packing/unpacking the car and 2-4 hours of driving there and back.

*We moved house a few months ago, which stopped the riding as well. But there's potentially a little more to ride here. It's all flat and pretty muddy, but at least it's off the road and not a constant stile-jump. I might do some exploring on my 'proper' bike, then see of I can cobble together a cheap (rigid) 29er ht that's more suited to local exploring.

About 50/50 mtb and commuting, the ride total is skewed by me doing a few uplift days and recording every run as a single ride 😛

Was aiming for 3k this year but i got a bit unwell from September onwards so the rides have tailed off the last two months. The main thing is I have managed to ride in a few new areas this year and done my longest ever mtb ride of 85 miles.

All-in-all a good year on the bike 😀

Riding
Distance: 2,852.2 km
Time: 175h 4m
Elev Gain: 37,006 m
Rides: 122

Includes a few weekends in Wales as well as quite a bit of roadie stuff. An up and down ride over Snowdon and a summer cycling tour around the country visiting friends - 1,000km in a week. As well as my first mbk race and audax - preferred the mbk event tbh.

Personally:
turned 30, left the fiancée, met someone new, moved in with new love, got utterly smashed by work being expletives and am currently looking to change careers in the new year.

Busy year all in! Still could do more.

6 cx races entered - best position 20th (12 senior)

Hand biking with my wheelchair marathon racing friend (hard work!)
Rickshaw and Trike riding
Bikepacking
MTB Orienteering racing

Rubbish cycling year, lots of commuting and not enough travel or mtb:

1988 miles

Previous years:

2013: http://singletrackmag.com/forum/topic/strava-stats-ytd-whats-yours

Still 2 weeks to go but here's mine:
Rides: 160
Time: 285:51:57
Distance: 2588 miles / 4164.98 km
Elevation Gain: 168047 ft / 51220.72 mtrs

compared to my 2014:
Rides: 137
Time: 267:05:37
Distance: 2680 miles
Elevation gain: 142,417 ft

Improving every year! that'll do. I don't commute by bike though.

Distance 5,599.6mi (8959.4km)

Time 313h 51m

Elevation Gain 226,066ft (68904.9m)

Rides 183

So I'm only doing 7.7m of ascent for 1km of distance and have a yearly average of 17.8mph.

I'd say 80% of these totals are commuting and I don't Strava off road.

5,630.82 mi
289 rides
70,637m climbing

My annual target is 6000 miles but it's looking unlikely this year as I was off the bike the whole of October due to knee surgery. Still possible but can't ride the rest of this week so that gives me two weeks to ride 350 miles which is perfectly possible if ice and snow don't put a stop to it.

Had a cracking month in September riding 934 miles, would have hit the 1000 if it hadn't been for consultations about said knee then surgery on the last day of the month.

Loved every mile though, even the ones into a 40mph headwind in torrential rain.

Some good climbing per mile here.

I'm only just approaching 1800 miles on the road bike this year 🙁 I was right on target to smash it (got over 1000 by mid june) but then started going to the gym which made me not want to ride as far after squats etc. Wish I didn't bother with gym as it's not benefited me massively in the end, wish I'd have spent more time on the bike over summer.

+1970mi (131 days) cycling to work and back which I don't record with GPS.

Equals average ride of:

Night riding once a week brings the averages down - all MTB though.

Currently -

2963.7km
197hours, 59mins
34,532m of climbing
176 rides

- 2.5 stone. 🙂

March to August was rubbish though, didn't ride much at all. Upped my game since November, lost the weight and upped my climbing in particular - this month I'll hit the strava climbing challenge for the first time ever! 🙂 Roll on 2016.

Certainly not as impressive as some of the numbers here, but:

1021.5km
90h 28m
45,149m (25,415m of which was in chairlifts in the alps 😀 )
45 rides

2 road rides in all of that, and subtracting the alps figures leaves me with 28m of ascent per km under my own power, which I am fairly happy with - maximum fireroad slog up, ridiculous steepness down 🙂

3,447.1 miles

I'm quite happy with that. Most importantly, the climbing/distance ratio is strong, which means more smiles per mile.

I'm short about about 250 rides and about 750 miles as I don't record my dog 'walks', which are 3 mile loops on the bike. (The above based on 5 rides a week)

About 1000 miles, all offroad. Lots of climbing (boring) leading to lots of descents (fun) as most of it was on the Malverns. Some new off-piste too (super fun).
And a new bike so, all-in-all, a good year 🙂

I bit disappointed with the overall kms. Thought it was going to be near 4000 this year after a strong start.

Mid-week rides became difficult as I got busy in Autumn 🙁

(wishing I'd recorded every last little ride/included uplift days as 6000 and 250,000ft is a nice round number. A couple of large rides may be ridden when I finish for Christmas!)

6454 km

Summer in Whistler bumped my numbers up nicely, breaking my wrist before we came back & the subsequent 3 months recovery (still not right) has limited my riding somewhat since.

Not a bad year though. Must try harder next year 🙂

100% road this year and a load of that has been commuting around the ridiculously flat Suffolk. The LEJOG trip (and training for it)I did in August has obviosuly significantly helped on the miles and climbing stats. All in all a pretty good year on the bike for me. Going to try and break the 5000 by the end of the year and then set myself some targets for next year.

Made up of about one third MTB, one third road and one third commute.

I was aiming to pass 10000kms this year, just because it's a nice round number to aim for. Might get up to 6500 miles by the end of the year if the weather permits.

Should just roll over the 1,800 mile mark in the next week or so, and hopefully the 200,000ft of climbing shortly after. All MTB, no road or commute.

Mixture of mtb, road and commute. With a one or two kom's along the way 😉 A couple of k less than this time last year. (Mainly inside turbo work for the first two months and November/December put paid to that)
