Eyup,

So we're away riding this weekend and my t type mech battery pogo pins have started playing up causing intermittent battery connection issues. I've 'sort of' got it working but I want a mitigation strategy.

I have a udh hanger and I have an older axs non t type mech.

If I take those bits along as a backup, will it work with the t type chain and cassette?

I also think I'll need to pair the shift pod and the mech but I'm pretty sure that's doable easily

Ta muchly

Try giving the battery terminals a buff with a scratchy think or a wire brush (carefully).  Can sometimes be tarnishing on the terminals rather than the pins.

I'm going to guess it will work...but not tried it.

Just pair the old mech with controller and it should be fine...you'll need to set b-tension and micro-adjust but those are easy to do as well.

Thanks, I don't think it's tarnishing (had that before) - one of the pins isn't very springy anymore

^ Apologies if a sideways comment but, I'm sure somebody posted on the STW forum somewhere about how to fix and somewhere that would fix stuck pins.

The t type sits further outboard than non t type . So check the old axs if it has enough micro adjust to make shifting work. I went the other way an used a t type mech with standard chain and cassette and it's on the limit...

I thought it was a no go, t type chain and cassette won't sync well with old axs mech🤷
