As above.
Build a cheap hack that I probably won't end up keeping 😳 so am after an inexpensive headset to use.
Bog standard 1 1/8''

Cane Creek S2/S3 have always been OK for me.
I've generally bought hope in the past, but currently taking the forks on and off whenever bike goes into boot, so wanted something less pretty. Performed well so far, despite being exposed to all the crap in my boot every day.
FSA Orbits have always proven long lasting for me.
Thanks guys will get googling.
My default Hope option isn't really on the cards due to cost 🙁
FSA Orbit XLII is the default answer I think
£20 at on-one, sure they can be had for less:

FSA - no problems; if going budget could always do cheap M:Part Madison headset, have been acceptable for me too. S/H Hope?
What woody2000 said.
I've not managed to find spare bearings for them at a decent price which is a bit annoying but it's cheap to buy another headset.
This mofo...

Cane Creek S8 is fundamentally the same as Hope, feels and looks cheaper but works exactly the same. A little over your £20 but not far.
+1 for the FSA Orbit MX.
Had one on the old bike which was still going strong after 2 years.
I've got Cane Creeks. When the bearings do eventually go they are cheap and easy to replace.
AGAIN fsa FROM ON ONE
For £20 I'd buy that FSA from on one.
Or, M:Part Comp, similar price.
IME, both are reasonable and inexpensive.
Has anyone mentioned an FSA Orbit? I think On One sell them
On a related note, anyone know what FSA headset for a 44mm HT and tapered steerer? FSA website as clear as mud.
No problem with my Superstar one yet plus you can get it in loads of colours if you're a tart like I am.
