Anyone have an experience of these in comparison to Hope E4's, Formula Cura's ?
Are they still as grabby as previous shimano brakes?
After something with a bit more power than the E4's I have, but with good modulation still.
Aren’t you looking at code RSC’s then?
Sram Codes should be on your list as they’re powerful, but not as grabby as Shimano brakes often are.
Also maybe Hope V4’s as they’re meant to be a step up from e4’s.
Maybe also worth considering a Magura MT7.
No comparison to either of those, have compared to Code ultimates and G2 ultimate/code combo.
Still suffer from the wandering bite point. Still grabby as hell, but less than previous model Shimano brakes.
The wandering bite point means they are a definite no then, completely unacceptable!
Cheers for the replies.
How about changing the front caliper to a V4?
Cura 2 pots are great and the 4s are meant to be just as good (but more powerful) so I'd take those over most options.
The new Hayes model is also meant to be excellent.
No wandering bite on mine, nor my M8120s. The wandering bite point was on early last generation brakes, but people still blame Shimano when it is almost certainly just a poor bleed. My XTRs took a few bleeds to get them bang on. XTs were easier for some reason.
Wouldn’t call them grabby now. Popular in DH circles now as the servowave is less abrupt on these than on Saint.
