Ggrrrrrrrr, which bright spark hidden in the depths of shimano land thought " hold on lads I gotta an idea" 👿
Good cranks them, what's the problem?
Oh no wait, is it the damn silly fitting method? Or is it the randomly nonstandard granny ring?
someone stole half your post 😛
No removal tool? Or rounded 10mm bolt?..
Or the eye wateringly expensive chainrings?
And the winner is khani - no removal tool 😥
50quid for the removal tool!! In the end I had to take the lump hammer to my cranks to get them off, best think I did with them
Really.. first set of my xtr cranks came with one... was a while ago mind 🙂
The removal tool comes with the cranks.
Oh - did you save some money by buying an OEM set?
Nope came on the bike I just bought
Deja-vu!!!!
Same problem this morning. Gave in and ordered one from Merlin for £30.
Still planning on moving them again soon so might be worth it!
Lucky mine came with the tool so I love mine and any see me err changing them
Being Useing middleburn rings for the outer too and never kill my granny rings so that's still going strong
Glad you didn't knock on the ex's door!
Yip that was a close one mister p lol can you email me those off road maps to MK?
My tool arrived last night and it worked well after I remembered to put the bolt back in.
Got mine on the classifieds for £10 I think 🙂
Lovely cranks, but ridiculous fitting system. No wonder the newer ones don't use this system any more. Wouldn't get them again because of this reason
I'll buy them off you for cheap
To be fair, it's essentially the same fitting system as most SRAM/Truvativ cranks, just that a bit comes off instead of staying in the crank.
