Blind option for me if you can get around the alignment issue. From memory rear "nut" is the thing that keeps the ring concentric on the spider. If these don't have the pin that goes through the two parts the ring could get a wobble on.

If not (or I'm wrong) I'll have a front loader set. They look great.

I'll have a set. Probably play it safe with the front loader to keep 30t compatability.

Never used a threaded 30t. How do they get round the centering issue Speeder mentions where the nut supports the chainring in the crank.

Firstly, very nice OP.

Secondly, i don't get you mountain bikerists. One minute you want to lose weight by spending money replacing things that work just fine - next minute you're spending money to add weight just 'cause it looks nice 😛

Lovely stuff. Not my words, but the words of Shakin' Stevens.

Good point speeder, I'll have to look into it a bit more.
Most 30T's are threaded but have a small step that locates in the spider arm.
Here's an AB 32 oval where you can see the locating lugs:

For their M980 kit, KCNC do a stepped male bolt to fit from the back. I think it's going to make things easier if I only offer the front screw design.
I'll look into the fitting for a screw and nut arrangement for bigger rings too to make sure they are fully compatible with threaded and non-threaded rings.
I've based it on threaded as that's what I've got..
If anyone want the stealth ones, above, drop me an email 🙂

I don't have XTR cranks but if I did I'd be all over a set of these.

Really nice, good work 8)

So I think I've got a decent colour match, thanks to teamslug...

Will be able to send the colour chip to the anodisers to match up.
Thoughts?

It looks about right, but I like the silver ones, they go well with the machined surface on the arm,
I'd be happy with either tbh..

I agree khani, silver does give a nice contrast.

Bump. I'm just about to collect a 30 tooth nw ring. Wondering if I fit it straight away or is it worth holding on a little while for the caps?

These are definitely in the pipeline, hopefully in the next couple of weeks. Only problem is that I don't think I'll be doing anodised ones (unless people want black?) as it costs too much to do a few sets and I'll be totally reliant on them matching the colour or I'll have unhappy customers.

To get them done grey would mean sending them away whereas I can get black done through work much easier (our anodiser does silver or black)

Will update when I get a more accurate date to machine them.

Thanks for the update. I did fancy the grey and would happily pay a little more for it but just as happy to go with the majority on these.

I'll wait for this to arrive before my 1x9 experiment I think.

Did you ever get any of these made? Would still be interested in a set or two if you make them.
