I was setting up my XTR disc brakes last night. They came with a bleed screw and a funny little adapter to replace the bleed nipple.
I was wondering why you would replace the nipple with the screw?

And it doesn't get plugged up with gunk after you lose the rubber cap :D.

Makes more sense.. Oil sump plugs on cars are just a bolt with a nylon washer.
