is the xtr bb the same as the slx?

basically i need to replace my hope bb, and being a bit of a tart would like the black xtr instead of the silver ?

hope needs seals/bearings so near double the cost of the xtr bb on sale

Ive had 2 XTR BBs from Rose, they lasted a pityful amount of time, maybe less sealing for improved spin / lightness? Ive just bought an XT for £16.

I found lifespan pretty much identical to XT/SLX.

Could be worth checking out the Gusset EXT24- it's a wee bit more expensive, but more servicable- can open it up to clean the bearings (and a dab of extra grease is probably a good idea) but also changing bearings is easy and they're standard sized bearings. I like 'em.

Just bought a Gusset ext24 after weeks of deliberation. Someone recommended them. Went for a ceramic one from crc

Aye, had the old one for a couple of years and just fitted another into a second bike. Like. Only downer is you have to be careful of the plastic tophats- can't buy them separately.
