Hi,
I'm thinking of the XT WH-M785 wheels but need a 9mm QR front hub for my forks.
Looking online I'm struggling to find an adapter that seems to make this conversion. Can anyone help out and point me towards something that will work?
Cheers,
Neil.
This is the sort of thing you need (assuming your 785 wheels are 15mm)

Mavic also make something similar.
Anyone know anywhere else that stocks these or have one they don't need? I'm drawing a blank.
I'm pretty sure that shimano axles can't be changed, and no kits available to do this (someone correct me if i'm wrong). The nukeproof one won't necessarily work on a shimano hub. I think it is because cup and cone doesn't lend itself to axle swaps...
As above, I believe that Shimano wheels are what they are and cannot be swapped out for different axles. I have a pair and nice as they are I'd not buy them (mine were OEM) due to the inability to source major spares. If the hub or rim fail you're lumbered.
That Nukeproof widget is not a replacement axle, it fits down the bore of the 15mm hub converting it to QR. It will work with any 15mm hub.
Mavic also do widgets that plug into each end of the 15mm 'axle' and convert to QR.
The Mavic 15mm->QR one defintiely works in XT hubs.
So now we've decided they work anyone know a source for the nukeproof one? I've found the mavic ones but they are over £20 which seems a bit steep just for end caps.
