Hi

Just bought an XT front mech (OEM so somewhat lacking in instructions). In the pack was a green plastic thingy. Anyone know what this is for? I assume it's some kind of guide...?

Thanks

Use it when setting up the mech for the first time, read the instructions it'll tell you how.

Then toss the green thing in your plastic recycling bin

It holds the mech out so it makes it easier to set up the max limit without hurting your fingers!

Used in combination with the flap of transparrent plastic film stuck on the side of the cage, it helps you mount the FD in the right position.

Thanks thomthumb, the instructions were really helpful.
Turns out the green plastic thing is the Pro-Set alignment block. Nice.
