As there's no discount code I can find at the moment that works, is there a viable alternative to Uberbike Race Matrix out there, or am I just going to have to cough up the money?

Dunno, but i'd just pay RRP for them. A couple of quid more than others organic pads and they last a lot longer.

Whilst I'd not pay oem lbs prices for brake pads, £30 for 4 pairs is cheep enough that finding anything cheaper the time could be better spent. Especially as it's one of the few components that actually makes a tangible difference to the bike.

Otherwise; superstar, discobrakes, lifeline (wiggle). Sometimes ebc, Goodrich, etc come up in the sales. But I do think the race matrix pads last longer than organics with a lot more power than sintered pads so it's a no brainier.

I tend to just buy the go2a shimano ones on offer ag amazon when they are low £3.95 a pack although currently £7.50
Or J02A finned for a tenner

superstar

Superstar don't produce brake pads any more. Though they might still have stock of certain ones, mainly the less popular ones. If you can get any, get Kevlar. Less noise than sintered, harder wearing than organic, excellent braking (IMO).

But Race Matrix has been good for me so far. Seem similar to the Kevs in noise and performance.

Used uberbike kevlar pads without issue on slx brakes, a lad I know bought some race matrix and threw them away after 2 rides because of the noise but not sure what brakes he was using

Uber kevlar if you can get it in that size/shape, would be my choice. The racematrix is better when they're working and I really rated them for my UK rides but I had trouble with them- like, proper dangerous trouble- in the alps. kevlar aren't as good at best but they're incredibly consistent, whether it's kinlochleven enduros in november or red hot alps descents or that first time I rode down fort william DH with the back brake on essentially all the time. Or, pentlands bimbles on a fatbike. They're never amazing but they're always solid.

IMO of course. I'm pretty sure it's the exact same pad superstar used to sell.

AliExpress for mine, £2 a pair and they have all worked as well as SSC/Uberbike.

My first AliExpress order arrived yesterday, 4 pads for about £4.50. tried them today and just as good as superstar / uberbike. They seem better finished and actually fit in the caliper unlike some superstar pads I've had!

Just have to see how they last and see if there are any build quality issues
