Or is it just wear in the cams ? Rear worse than front and on close inspection can see its the mechanical cam clicking as it moves back.
I have had a couple do this - both rear ones - it signalled the end of the lever for both of them in my case

I had this on a new set of XTR's as it happened after the first couple of rides. I got a new set sent to me and it happened again so I live with it but it drives me mad. I'll be going back to Hope when I replace these.
Yes, annoying indeed ! I can actually see the cam clicking if I look in it with a torch. Not affecting function yet but expecting it will, so new one on its way although I won't put it on yet.
