Has anybody had any luck with this set-up, as in actually tried it?

A goat-link will not be an option as this is for a Canyon Strive which alraedy uses a sort of prorietary hanger.

How nicely does it shift onto the 50t cog?

It's a stretch but ultimately it will depend on the actual hangar and chainstays.

I've been told, but not tried it myself, that the Deore 11-51 11 speed cassette works perfectly well with a 12 speed mech, if you need a plan B.

I need a new cassete, so considering my options. It's a lot of money to waste if it doesn't work.

I had a suntour 11-50 ,11 speed cassette with Shimano xt 11 speed mech.

Worked fine.

Lasted me 3 years 3 chains. I was very grateful of the 50 cog on 2 Jen rides.

The xt 11-46 on my other bike shifts better do I've gone for that this time round, and will just have to push a bit more often 🙂

(Hopefully pushing hard on the bike, grrr! Rather than off and pushing, baaaah!)

It's OK into the 50, not as good as a Shimano, but OK. Hard to say if it's the cassette (ZTTC) or the limits of the mech. Certainly workable though.

Thanks - I'm coming down of the side of giving the 50 a chance after your comments.
