My wife is looking for a new hardtail mountain bike. From moving from a 26in mtb with a 100mm fork, most of the new hardtails are 29in with 130mm forks which means the standover is way too high because of the wheel size increase and fork.
Are there any decent 27.5 hardtail frames with low standover around or complete bikes? Bike would be used for local routes and days in the dales. Modern geometry would be great.
She is 5ft tall, so the smaller the better. Happy to build up a bike if there are any frames only etc.
My partner (4 feet 11) has a Canyon Grand Canyon 8 that she really enjoys. Nice spec, relatively cheap and great for knocking about the dales and the odd trail centre. I think it's the XXS but their online size calculator seemed to work fine.
Kona cindercone 27.5 has very low standover in small (710mm)  even the 29ers in small are 727mm and theres a few good deals out there on them at the moment
