I want to bin Blighty off at Xmas for somewhere warmer and I'm looking for ideas.
I've heard Cyprus can be good fun - bit of riding around the island and warmish at the beach (19 degrees or so).
I've also been looking at South Africa, bit warmer, looks interesting. Anyone with experience of MTB in either of these places? I'd take my own bikes I think, happy for a bit of gnar, gravel road or anything in between.
Any other ideas for places to go with the bikes? Won't be bikes every day, but a fair chunk 🙂
Inland South Africa over Xmas could be 40 degrees, we went 2 years ago and riding near the coast would be ok but no way inland.
Bump! There's so many of you on here surely someone's got some good suggestions for winter MTB fun?
Yeah, saw that. Nice to hear from "real" people tho 🙂
Gran Canaria is pretty good - try Freemotion
for Downhill try Madeira - Freeride Madeira
utah - Moab is great
Morocco should be OK too.

Already been messaging you for next year Al 😉
Kerala was on my radar but the time I've got available has been curtailed, so it's a no-go this year. (Maybe next).
Been to tenerife with Darren from Lavatrax - thoroughly recommend it.
Thanks for the other suggestions! Keep 'em coming 🙂

I'll see you there, 7 of us booked in with Mike the bike xmas & new year 2019
South Africa we use Jamie at Cape Velo for Stellenbosch, Boschendal area. Nice bloke and a good guide. Has access to good hire bikes and gravel bikes as well. Boscheal is a lovely area and not far from Franshcoek which is very nice. We've been to RSA for the last five or six years and I would not bother taking a bike nowadays and just rent, means you can use a smaller hire car if you fancy a bit of exploring
